Cigarettes Not Smoked

John, I posted a year ago about my coffee tasting bad. I returned it to the store, bought some more, same problem. Coffee and cigarettes just go together. Coffee is just not the same anymore. Switching to tea sounds like a good idea since I really seem to be perpetuating a stupid routine by drinking coffee in the morning and not enjoying it. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/16/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 376 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,520 Amount Saved: $1,052.80 Life Gained: Days: 37 Hrs: 16 Mins: 24 Seconds: 20

When I quit smoking I also quit the coffee and the diet coke. Coffee wasn't too bad, about 2, sometimes 3 cups a day, and never after noon. Diet coke was horrid - about 6 to 8 a day at least and more on weekends. I didn't have a problem giving them up because I thought they would be triggers - have a coffee, have a smoke. I now drink 2 - 3 pots of green tea a day and find myself in my car craving a green tea. Silly, but who knows, maybe I replaced one with the other. It doesn't always work though - like today. I never drank coffee. I have a Dr. Pepper habit. I will sometimes drink tea instead but I have never noticed getting a headache or any symptoms when I do without it. One thing about this quit is learning to drink ice water. Now I find myself with a bottle of water alot. Good habit just that the bottles are not very enviromental friendly. My last adiction is to diet soda. I've had this since a msall child - my parents put it in my baby bottle, and i've never ever given it up. I want to, but the thought of it scares the CRAP out of me! It's the pain - the headaches I get when I go even a half a day without... you know? scary. Hi John - I have been considering the same thing for a week or two myself. I know what you mean about how it makes your mouth feel. And, now that I can smell again... Well, you know. ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 155 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,650 Amount Saved: $906.75 Life Gained: Days: 14 Hrs: 0 Mins: 54 Seconds: 45

I am thinking about giving up coffee. I used to enjoy it with a morning smoke but now I am starting to dislike the way it makes my mouth feel after I drink it. I know the cream and sugar I put in there can't be doing my body good and I am not sure if I still need that morning caffene any more. I think I am going to switch to tea for a while, I can drink that without cream or sugar. Was just wondering if anyone else has given up coffee after quitting?
