Almost 12 Days....

Still with us, Miss (LUCKY)Shamrocks??? We still hope so!!! Sounded like you were doing pretty well going through 12 days as a Non-smoker before you got here!!! Like the Daily Llama said, this site has been invaluable in getting me through my first 2 weeks! Well, taking Chantix was also part of it!!! I was on here quite a bit the first week and just a little bit less this last week, but it was something that I really needed to get through the worse part of the withdrawals and what not!! Going through the program before my actual quit day was also VERY helpful!! As I look back though, the support and answers from my newest best friends here is what has really done the trick for me!!! Anyways get on often and ask questions, read previous threads(there's a good search here, pick a topic) and remember if you hit a point of breakdown, post here and wait for some help!!! We'll be there before you know it to give you a hand!! Hope to hear from you soon!!! WOW BeeDee and Miss S. look at you both.. yes I HAD to admit to myself that N O P E is the ONLY way to go.. I remind myself often than I am only ONE PUFF away from a pack a day. and putting that cigarette money away (if you can) go look at it once in a while.. just think you were burning at least a 5.00 bill or more.. every single day .. not to mention the gas to go get them.. and look at the days of your life you are getting back..:) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/10/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 38 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 646 Amount Saved: $129.20 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 12 Mins: 17 Seconds: 29

Every time I think 'I could just have one drag' I remember the one drag that became one cigarette a week, which became 10 on the weekend, which became 20 a day. ( In the space of about a month). So for myself, I think, 'you can have none, or 20 a day', because that seems to be my reality. I know which I prefer!! You can do it! For myself, Ms Shamrocks, what got me through the rough times during the earliest days of my quit was being able to come in here and sit here for hours each day and read, read, read until the courage and determination of experienced ex-smokers rubbed off on me and I could go to sleep knowing that I was not alone with that nightmare fear of losing my resolve ... Congrats on your quit, MissShamrocks! 12 days smoke free is great. Yes, we all have those "rough" moments from time to time, and sometimes they're worse than others. I find deep breathing TRULY helps, and water, lots of water. If I'm really out of sorts(not as much as in the beginning), I would grab an early night with great hopes of feeling better the next morning. And faith...faith that one day at a time, one crave at a time, you'll make it through. And you will. Cheers, Jan :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/27/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 50 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,250 Amount Saved: $425.00 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 18 Mins: 34 Seconds: 49
