That one brought a tear to my eye, Lainey. And that's about how I feel too. I think you're going to do just great. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 20 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 522 Amount Saved: $185 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 9 Mins: 41 Seconds: 16

I noticed from some of the people my age (50 somethings) who are saying "I started as a teenager so don't know what I am like as a non smoker." I agree, I have quit many times before, but this time my attitude is strangley different. I hid behind my smoking for 38 years. I have finally realized I am an addict, and I have to treat myself as such, but I am also finding out that maybe I'll like the new me emerging from this process, and the more I think about it, I can't wait to see the new me emerging. Maybe I can lose some of my other bad habits along the way (ie traits I wasn't sure I liked about myself) I am an adult now, so I don't want to be the teenager who started smoking on a whim. I want to be a healthy, happy and free adult. This is my chance. Maybe I could even go a step further and be a better me than I was as a smoker. (ie more loving, kinder) So smoking is not an option, takes on a whole new meaning... If I gave in, I would be killing the chance to find the new adult me who doesn't smoke...and now I want that, so one more reason to say NOPE. Let all find out what wonderful human beings were hiding behind the smelly cigarettes and set them all free!
