Somewhere along the line I was told that the chemicals in cigarettes used to 'trick' my body into releasing a bit of sugar into my bloodstream, this would give me the feeling that I'd just had something to eat, and hence the less I ate, the more I smoked.
I used to get acid reflux every once in a while, but since I've quit that seems to have come under control too. Maybe it's because I have more actual food in my body instead of acid churning around because it's been tricked into thinking there's food.
I just wish I could find a way to satisfy my craving for sweets in a healthy way...one thing I've found is that diet soda is a good way to get the sweet fix...and sometimes herbal tea with sweetner is good, but man, oh man, don't let me near the chocolate bar isle at the corner store or I'm a gonner :-)
