Hi Grin..some doctors just don't have the people personality needed to deal with patients. I smoked for 32 years before quitting and when I asked my doctor for a prescription for an NRT he said because I was only smoking between 6-8 cigarettes a day that he didn't think I was addicted to nicotine. He did give me the prescription for the NRT and I'm glad he did because without it I know I would have slipped by now. Good luck to you!! You all make me smile! Thank you! I am going to a new GP today about my BP. He does not smoke cigars and he's got a little meat on his bones. Hopefully he will have a few more answers for me other than it being a result of my weight gain. I do know that I need to get more active. There is no excuse now that the weather is beautiful here. You guys are the greatest!! xxoo G :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 236 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,080 Amount Saved: $1,132.80 Life Gained: Days: 24 Hrs: 7 Mins: 42 Seconds: 14

Hey Grin, I packed on 20lbs give or take a few and my doctor is still thrilled to pieces but then again she is a woman. She told me to walk, walk and walk some more that it helps with the weight and the building of bone mass. Time for a new doctor Grin. Grin, honestly gotta dump him, tell him to kiss ass, and get a new DR. I did the same thing 4th quarter and good thing I did or else I would have stroked by now. I love my new DR and he is so excited I quit smoking. He is telling me to exercise, but Grin I weigh over 200 pounds, hey I need to get moving!! You are gorgeous and you smell good too!!! no worries :) Sue My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/3/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 314 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,140 Amount Saved: $549.50 Life Gained: Days: 30 Hrs: 15 Mins: 50 Seconds: 18

Grin, I'll bet your absolutely right about that doctor's little weenie. I don't weigh myself, have no idea how much I've put on, but I've gone from size 6 to 10, and I am without a doubt the sexiest thing I've seen all week. There is nothing at all attractive about anybody dragging an oxygen tank around with them, & the thinner they are the less attractive it is, IMO. However much poundage I've porked on, my skin looks tons better, my hair is freakin' gorgeous, my teeth are whiter & healthier & I look probably 5 years yuonger than I did a year ago. Hell, I could probably take your skinny ass doctor. Grin, You know he is talking nonsense. Kick him into touch, get a doc from the 21st century and get on with your quitting and filling out. Congratulations on 235 days smokefree. Penitent

Good for you find a new Doc. Doesn't that just make you mad when instead of complimenting you for quitting smoking they gripe about 8 lbs. Probly your b.p. was up cuz you were so upset. I've been going to W.W. since around Oct. and lose a pound gain a pound. But at my last dr. appt my body weight index was in normal range so goodbye W.W. That $39. a month will go to other use. Hey Grin, Sorry I missed the post yesterday, but it sounds like you have quit a fan club here. I have to agree with what everyone has told you. It's time to find another "Doc". Sound to me that you're just right. Let me join that fan club...You Don't Smoke!!! Tell this "Doc" about hell week, heck week, taking a cruise, and hitting the beach. More important than any weight gain, is the fact that you can now "smell a rat". We're all on your side. Hey Grin. I'm glad you're feeling better, but it's too bad that you had to feel badly to start with. Your doctor's a twit! My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/3/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 69 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,380 Amount Saved: $524.40 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 8 Mins: 49 Seconds: 20
