Anyone here doing the Weight Watcher thing

16 years ago 0 48 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I used weight watchers for a couple of months to lose 10kgs. After putting on some weight when I quit, I let it happen for a bit and then though... "ok, another project!". I am now weighing less than when I quit! Yee haw. I feel great and am maintaning the loss just fine now. I know it's not me but my daughter goes to WW and she has lost 3 stone (42llbs) and she looks fantastic. I try to pinch ideas from her. She is working with the points system and has lots of cookery books to use. If anyone asks me I say it is the best way to go because it has worked wonders on her. Astyrofan - those are great tips, but your enthusasm is what I found so refeshing.. I wish you an your wife all the best - you deserve it. I've personally fallen off the weight watchers wagon, and I fell like crap! I've cut out the junk food today and plan to get back to meetings just as soon as I can. Hey Astrofan! Thanks for the tips and congrats again for hopping back on board! In just the last couple of days I have been starting to feel a bit bloated! Good thing I'll be seeing the Doc today to hop on his scales to see how much I have gained since I was there to get the script for Chantix on Feb. 25th. I told my wife I was starting to feel fat, so we're going to start concentrating even more on a healthier diet. We do actually eat sensibly right now, but we know that there is room for improvement!!! More exercise is on the way, too!! Have a Great non-smoking weekend and stay away from those triggers!!! ;) Jim My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 225 Amount Saved: $37.13 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 14 Mins: 30 Seconds: 50

weight watchers is great , i like the core plan better than the points. i've been on a fitness plan since 1/2/2008 and have lost 25 lbs. , i've got 25 more to go. and actually i'm eating a ton of food , but it's healthy and tastes great. the key is to get on a good exercise program which can be as simple as a brisk 30 minute walk 5 times a week. my wife has also loss 25 lbs. here are a few tips; replace breads with whole wheat whole grain learn to read labels {things that say "low fat" and "lite" are misleading , keep the % of fat from calories to 30% or less. the "jenny o" brand of EXTRA lean ground turkey is great , and can be used in a variety of great recipes. boneless skinless chicken breasts are real good. but tuna packed in water and mix in dill relish , fat free miracle whip and grey poupon , it's deeeelicious. get used to skim milk with cereals like TOTAL. eat 5 or 6 times a day , lots of vegetables and fruit. there is an author covert bailey that has some great books on this subject and they are interesting , funny and easy to understand. my wife and i are fifty , we've been married 31 years and we just got tired of being too heavy so we attacked the challenge and are loving it. good luck to you ! Hi all, I was talking with a friend recently about my recent apetite spike and that I'm hoping to lose 30lbs by Jan.1/09. I was on about how hard it is, and how unfair it is that the weight comes on so easily and doesn't budge after that. She gave me a solution that was so simple I couldn't believe it. she said that 1/4 of the plate is protien (which is about the size of a deck of cards)1/4 is starch and the other half is vegetables. Sounds easy...I haven't found an easy way to deal with my sweet tooth yet, but I'm getting there lol My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/9/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 542 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 21,680 Amount Saved: $10,840.00 Life Gained: Days: 50 Hrs: 5 Mins: 42 Seconds: 5
