Is this a withdrawal or side effect?

I have the same problem. But tooting won't kill me smoking on the other hand will. To be quite honest gas smells just as bad as a lit up cig and air freshner works for the gas but not for the cig. Toot away everyone it only means we're finally getting healthy. yep yep yep...happened to me too, I'm with Freedom, it lasted about a month and let up. I'm also happy to finally be regular without the help of nicotine. someone suggested that I eat more yogurt, as it will help the intestines process what they need to process in order to rejuvenate themselves. It's amazing that smoking affects literally our entire body from stem to stern. (I haven't figured out how to post my mileage, but I've been quit since Sept 9, 2006)

This is so funny, I agree with Terry, It really brough up my spirits. I still have this problem, pretty sure it has nothing to do with withdrawal anymore, I think it has more to do with that I eat now. When I smoked, all I did all day long was drink coffee and smoke, I rarely ate, I was full of garbage all the time. My husband is having just as much of the problem too, so my kids both went to the store and bought airfreshner, they walk around with it. My house sometimes smells like boiled eggs. Good thing we hardly get company, but I can't hardly stand to go home...gees, this has to let up soon. Maybe I should tape some of those pillows Patrick has to our butts to see if that helps. This has gotten really gross, sorry if I offended anybody, but it seems everyone had or has this problem at some point. I'm living alone also for the next few months until my wife gets over here from South Africa so all I've been doing about the farting problem is to buy a little a**-sized pillow to put under me to protect my really new, really beautiful looking recliner chair... The pillow goes in the garbage and my recliner will remain pristine for when she gets here! You are not the first to ask...I also asked when I first quit because it worried me. It is not pleasent and can be embarrasing...but I would much rather have some smelly toots than be a smoker. It does eventually pass. It took me almost a month but now I am extremely regular and don't toot as much and love that I don't depend on nicotine to keep me regular. Keep up your quit you are doing amazing!
