Hi Lillyput, Me too, I found this site when I was on a sister site for depression and I swear that getting into the quit after reading the spirit of SSC I have lightened more of my lifelong depressive state - why? because of the sense of pride and recovered sense of my own intelligence (I have felt like an idiot for the last 20 years every time I lit a cigarette but did I stop smoking? No!) You're already 37 days into your Quit and you'll keep on clocking up the smoke-free days by coming in here and exchanging experience and help with your fellow members... Yes goofy, Thank's for talking to me, Yea, I do feel good, 37 day's is a long time for me, never thought I could get this far, Only hope I can keep going. I tell myself every day that I am not giving up anything I am taking back my life this keeps me going somewhat but I am still scared. you know yourself it's very hard to deal with all the different feelings, the feeling of being lost, missing the cruch that was always there and and lots of other stuff that's going on. I think having you all to talk to is the best help of all. and no I havn't rewarded myself yet but I just might get a manicure this weekend. Sometimes we need a little push to do what's good for us. I am sorry it took your getting ill to make you quit smoking, but now you're 37 days into your quit! You've got to feel good about that. Buying a computer with your money saved is a great idea, and super reward. Are you rewarding yourself as you reach different milestones? Congratulations on your quit so far. Keep it up. Hi all, I clicked in to this site one day out of desperation, I found you by chance and you all helped me so much you will neve know how much, you all keept me going, you got me through some of the worst day's and I thank you all for that because I am still smoke free. I smoked for 40 years, I tried many times to give up before but failed miserably, this time I had no choice I needed an operation but couldn't have it because I had a very serious lung infection that just would not clear up, it took weeks and weeks and lots of medication before I got well. This was just one of many infections, I was getting them all the time and each one was worse than the one before. I knew I had to stop I had to do something I just had to get well. I got champix from my doctor I find them helpful for taking away the anxiety. But the best help is all of you it's great reading about you all, I am learning so much and I don't feel so alone. thank you all for listing to me. PS: I am using my work computure my boss knows he has no problem with it, but maby out of the money I am saving from the cigs I will buy a PC for home then I will be able to keep in touch all the time.
