Welcome Back...you do know, this is THE quit, right?? Seems like every one I have heard from on this site that has taken the new drugs are quitters for good. I am into week 3 and feeling great, although I did chew some nicotine gum for about 10 days.. Stay on here, these are a a fine group of friend's and I know without their help, I would never have accomplished what I have in such a short time. I am former smoker and will never ever again succumb to that demon! call on any of us if you need a helping hand! Welcome back! Don't ever quit quitting. One of these times it will just click. There are many members around here that have been exactly where you are. Rarely does one quit successfully on their first attempt. I couldn't begin to tell you how many times I "tried" to quit. Welcome PeteG. I am new here also. On day 4 of my quit. The programs and hints do work. There is no magic wand to wave, as you have already found out. but finding your triggers and having a plan in place is definately the way to go. I have "tried" quitting in the past. I am using the programs, hints and site, as well as medication to stop smoking. And my attitude this time is Quit ... Not "trying" My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/11/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 30 Amount Saved: $4.73 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 10 Mins: 32 Seconds: 46

Welcome to the site Peteg! Congratulations on your decision to stop smoking! Look around here, work the online program, read, and post as often as you can. Let us know if we can help in any way. Hubby and I also used Chantix to quit. It worked well for us. Welcome Peteg! I take it you are on Chantix or Champix (Cdn). So you know the ropes...good luck with the mod thing. So get out your readin glasses and polish em up, did you do the program last time? You have a few days to prepare, so...let's get you quit for good! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 345 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,625 Amount Saved: $3,639.75 Life Gained: Days: 45 Hrs: 8 Mins: 40 Seconds: 49

Site has changed a lot since I was here last, but I come again as a newbie. On Day 3 of a drug regimen that I hope won't last 30 or 60 days. Quit date is 25 Feb -- got to give the drugs time to do their thing, even though they make me feel loopy. Goal this time around the block is to avoid moderator wrath -- never could do that before! Older and wiser, maybe? peteg
