Sassy, Quite normal when we first quite. The long & short of it is nicotine is a mood booster and we quit our mood takes a nose dive. Other things you can do aside from smoke to boost your mood? * Nap * Pleasurable activity * Snack * Physical activity * Sunshine Hope this helps. Danielle, Bilingual Health Educator

Hi, Sassy, caught your post in a Stats thread today and I want to say how glad I am to see that you're up to Day 26 now and feeling good... I can't believe that you did this cold turkey!! And suffered all that noise and brouhaha and your senses on overload for the early part of your Quit??!! Well done... post more... into Day #6....do not miss the morning cigs anymore...just the after meals and 'unwind at home ones'. did about 10 minutes of crying last night but i was also on a bus for almost 3 hours in new york city traffic so maybe i would have sobbed anyway? who knows. i notice that my co-workers lunches are a bit more smelly than before but maybe that's because i don't smell like smoke...my family is very supportive and so are all of you. i am proud of how well i am doing and literally am getting through each hour one by one. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/7/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 6 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 180 Amount Saved: $76.50 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 17 Mins: 37 Seconds: 28

I started with " Export A" no filter Those babys would light your lights. No I don't miss smoking anymore . Everybodys recovery is a little different, you have to understand that smoking has the ability to mask a lot of other issues some that are physical If what your experiencing becomes a problem see a doctor. The fact of the matter the rest of the world is smoking 1.1 billion to be exact.Yes it does seem that way.5 days in your doing great just keep posting and checking in here there's lots of help right here to get you through this. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/20/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 329 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,922 Amount Saved: $3,290.00 Life Gained: Days: 80 Hrs: 2 Mins: 22 Seconds: 38

Hi Sassy, It seems like your senses have been hightened since your quit. You're noticing everyone smoking because you are trying not to, and this is normal. You're doing great, keep pushing forward! Sylvie, Bilingual Health Educator

hmmm....i was a marlboro woman for a long time....would smoke in a snowstorm and use my last chash if need be...nothing to be proud of for sure...329 days is impressive...do you still miss it? *and if you can remember back to the early days...do you remember not being able to finish sentences? i am dropping things and my emails look strange like i forgot to to spell....and everything is loud...why is everyone so loud (i know i am in new york city but it's extra loud) and one more question...when you first stopped, did it seem like the whole world was smoking? where were all these people last week when i couldn't find a match???????? Sassy you are doing great. Don't envy anyone. We all get quit the best way we know how. Some do it with NRT and others cold turkey. The goal is to get smoke and nicotine free. You are on day 5 and should be free of the nicotine. Now you are going to deal with triggers and changing habits. Just hang in there and do what you are doing "NOT SMOKING" :eg: and we will help with the rest. Keep the Quit Sparky My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/30/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 288 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,880 Amount Saved: $864.00 Life Gained: Days: 40 Hrs: 19 Mins: 22 Seconds: 35

Hey sassy if smoking was a contest I probably would have out smoked you. ;) Cold turkey is tough but if you stay the course nicotine will be out of your system sooner and your recovery time will be shorter. Fight the good fight we're behind you 110 %. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/20/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 329 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,922 Amount Saved: $3,290.00 Life Gained: Days: 80 Hrs: 1 Mins: 41 Seconds: 23

hi there! i am okay today...thanks. i was surprised that i woke up and didn't think about a cigarette...last night was tough...i think the evenings -when i get home from work, will be the tough times..need to find other ways to relax...i am also a tad envious of those using patches and gum or lozenges...this cold turkey thing is not as much fun as i hoped ;) the support from all of you is amazing...and when i feel like i need to walk downstairs and stand on the street like one of those needy new yorkers (like i was 5 days earlier)i check out this website and i am over it. cannot thank you all enough.
