How are you doing Sassy? Quitting smoking is not easy, but it is so worth the effort...no pain, no gain. You can do this. Do not light that next cig and you will be smoke free. Smoking is a choice..you make the choice. NOPE..not one puff ever! new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 262 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,288 Amount Saved: $1,310.00 Life Gained: Days: 36 Hrs: 11 Mins: 56 Seconds: 13

Hey Sassy congratulations on your smoke free days! I felt sad in the beginning too. I also felt angry, happy and tired. It's a little bit of a rollercoaster ride that first week. I hate rollercoasters at the best of times, and this wasn't the best of times. Know that it does get easier (I didn't believe that either) but it really does. after day nine i only had one day where i felt like having a cigarette. And day nine was a bad day for me, the worst since day four. So, hang tight, fasten you seatbelt and know the rollercoaster, smoothes out to a nice relaxing boat sailing on the water. Y'know sassy, I think over the past few months, I'm get more excited over the new people that stay quit. Not that it's easy for me by any means. I still have the same triggers, like you do. The worst one for me is driving. I can't avoid it since I live 23 miles from work. But you know what? I feel like if i did smoke, I'd really let someone very special down. That would be myself. It definitely takes dedication, and I see that in you. I never saw myself hitting 100 days, but it came very quickly because of so many wonderful people on this site. So stay close, post often, and soon you'll be enjoying the benefits of smelling better, (both you and your surroundings), the sense of taste, etc. goofy My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 106 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,240 Amount Saved: $667.80 Life Gained: Days: 19 Hrs: 3 Mins: 25 Seconds: 0

Hi Sassy I am new here also. I am using chantix. I quit yesterday at noon. I have smoked most of my life ( I m 59) as both parents smoked also.. I am on dial up.. so everything loads really slow for me, but please add me to your buddy list if you would like. I am really determined this time. I have a fridge full of water, iced tea, packs of chewing gum and mints. Already I can't believe how much better my mouth feels ... Hang in there.. we can do it. Hi Sassy & welcome. Good going on your 3 days. And just crying 3 times? That's not bad at all! I know I made more people than that cry my first day. ;p This is a great gift you have given yourself so don't take it back! After smoking for so long, we do have to change around a few things in our lives and hopefully it will be good changes. Like becoming more active, having more time, pampering ourselves and simply taking time to smell the roses. :) There will be that feeling of missing something, sure. But, that will soon pass. I know exactly what you are feeling. I do know now that my life is so much better without smoking and that the cigs were never my friend. Stay close and stay sassy :) You can do this!
