DO HUSBANDS UNDERSTAND???

20 years ago 0 31 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
No at first my husband didn't understand. Okay so for 4 years he didn't understand. It was only just during my relapse in August that he finally caught on to what was happening to me. He ended up coming in to my Dr. appointment with me and the Dr. explained things to him. I also have the Lucinda Bassett tape called "I'll be there" it for spouses and family members who have loved ones like us. So he listened to that and I also read him paragraphs from books that I have that explain things to him.

For all of you married women and even married men - do your spouses understand what your going through?? i am newly married- last spring & my husband has a hard time understanding when i am going thru my panic attacks. mine started in the summer & have progressively gotten worse. i have missed alot of work because i have agoraphobia, so i am terrified to drive to work(20 miles away), we also have a lake cottage, which thank god it's winter time because towards the end of last summer i made every excuse possible not to go up. i have a terrible fear when i'm there that something is going to happen to me & i'm not going to get help in time. we also go snowmobiling every Feb., which i used to love, now that the time is approaching, i am imagining every worst possible scenario! Anyways, i would love to hear some feedback on how to try & make your spouse understand & help you get thru all this!! thanks- jackie
