Oh you poor little grey wrinkly things. Im sorry. I hope its not too late. Remember when we used to dance? Twelve, fifteen hours a week? More? Remember when I used to laugh at the other smokers in my gang of friends trying to push the broken down car? Them wheezing, me sailing, only because I got lots of exercise while we all smoked the same number of Marlboros every day? Whos sailing now, you ask? The ones that quit smoking fifteen years ago, thats who. Remember how fast that extra lungs kick disappeared after we got the office job? How the stairs suddenly looked opera-house steep, miles long, forebodingIMPOSSIBLE? Nuff said. No more Miss Nice Gal. You and me? Were now at war. Youre full of gunk and need a blowout. Call me Drill Sergeant Todash. Im about to kick your ashes into shape and youll LIKE it. Sound off ONE TWO and all that malarkey. The weight gain from the quit? This years resolution Im afraid. Year 1 = quit smoking. Year 2 = quit fat. End of. Now quit whinging. Now Im back on the old treadmill. Sure go ahead, make the (frighteningly high but decreasing!) weight throw my shins into agony. See if I care. Ill jack up the incline and WALK baby. Ill get to wheezing and panting and turning into a human beetroot. Dripping wet, gasping. BRING IT ON! Were at WAR you and me. Im going to win. Youve been treated like crap for far too long, but youre not gonna hold that against me and pressure me into laziness. WAKE UP I said. Oh cripes, what have I done to you? Lung one and lung two? Inhale. Exhale. (Hey, I really CAN get that breath in there nowmaybe, just maybe) Right. I still am sorry, but no use dwelling on the past. This is today. This is tomorrow. This is FOREVER. Your smokes arent coming back. You could use some pinking up. I could use some new trainers. Lets run. x T My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 404 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,292 Amount Saved: 2,222.00 Life Gained: Days: 34 Hrs: 9 Mins: 59 Seconds: 34
