Warning...if you're thinking of not smoking....

WOW! I never thought about it this way. So true! I will miss flicking my cigarette out the car window and it coming back over my shoulder into the back seat. My goodness, the fires I could have started not to forget the danger I was putting myself and other drivers in. The pretty charcoal-coloured burn marks on my car seat The times I've dropped a lit cigarette on my couch and frantically grabbed for it! Excellent post and reminder! Thank you! LOL re: febreeze!!! When my former roommate moved in with me (I was still a smoker at the time), I had 4 bottles of febreeze in my house! I used SO much of it all the time! I haven't needed to buy a bottle since I quit (still have some from before I quit!) Crave the Quit! One of my most favorite things on that list is "standing out in the cold and rain"! That was the first thing I did not miss when I quit. I hated having to do that all the time. Thanks for the great post!!!! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 27 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 691 Amount Saved: $135 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 22 Mins: 16 Seconds: 11

If you are thinking about stopping smoking, or are struggling in your early days as a non-smoker, consider the reality of the situation. If you stop smoking, you're going to miss out on a lot!!! Here are just a few things you'll have to give up: *Fighting the wind to light a match *Standing outside in the freezing cold, raining, sleeting weather *Walking/driving to the store at 11:00 p.m. because you realize you only have 3 cigarettes left until tomorrow. *Buying 2-3 bottles of Fabreeze a week *Cigarette holes in your clothes & car *Dreading airplane trips/train rides/bus rides *Leaving the dinner table early *Cringing in pain when you inhale (while smoking) because you have streph throat *Having people dread sitting next to you, ride an elevator with you, etc. because you reek of smoke *The deep friendships you've made on the sidewalk (where you've been banished) *Watching the clock in every meeting, appointment, activity because you're dying for it to be over so you can smoke *Missing scenes in movies, toasts at weddings & parties, gossip at lunch, etc. because you're outside smoking *Waking up coughing *Making sure you don't laugh too hard, because if you do a huge wad of flem will get stuck in your throat *Colds and the sniffles that last weeks and weeks *The 3-second rule (if you drop your cig, & pick it up within 3 seconds, it's fine/clean to smoke) & the germs you surely collect *Lectures from your doctor *Yellow Teeth *Dry dull hair & skin *Your support of the tobacco companies There are many more things. Just wanted to tell you the truth!
