Just what to do with myself

It's different for everybody. The first time I attempted to quite, I used the patch, the fist few days weren't bad, then when I started decreasing the mil of the patch, it went downhill. This time I am taking Chantix. The withdrawal was much easier for me, but still no fun. This is the very best place to be, everyone here cares and will help whenever you need it. Good luck and stay strong. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 60 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,800 Amount Saved: $225.00 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 21 Mins: 52 Seconds: 44

Hey Dj & Everyone, I am new to this also. Today is the first day of the rest of my healthy life, today is my quit date, It's only been about 8 1/2 hours (if you include sleep) without a smoke. I have the gum and I'm praying this is gonna work this time. I know the first week is supposed to be really hard but what about the first day? What am I supposed to expect on the first day?

Hey DJ! If you want to quit, get rid of all the cigarettes in your home, read all you can here about all the effects of nicotine and the other 4000 chemicals in them, read about the effects, what to expect, how others have coped. I smoked for over 37 years, I tired to quit ??? times, (more than 25.) This is not a task to take lightly, you need to prepare and learn everything you can about it. Nicotine is more addictive than heroine, it controls you because you are addicted to it - the tobacco companies made sure of that by your fourth cigarette. So, if you want to quit, we are here to help. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 335 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,375 Amount Saved: $3,534.25 Life Gained: Days: 44 Hrs: 1 Mins: 23 Seconds: 45

I need to control them instead of the way it's been. They've controlled me. What a battle I never figured 41 years ago when I started.
