I would recommend avoiding any and all smokers in the beginning of your quit, if at all possible; even if they are good friends. I told my smoking friends that I would not be able to see them for a while, but we did talk on the phone to stay in touch with each other. Stay out of bars where smoking is allowed. Tell your smoking friends NOT to give you or offer you any cigs when you happen to be around them. If you live with a smoker, ask them to please keep their cigs somewhere where you can not see them or have access to them. And to smash any long butts to pieces, so they are unsmokeable. new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 262 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,288 Amount Saved: $1,310.00 Life Gained: Days: 36 Hrs: 11 Mins: 54 Seconds: 49

I will definitely be following your advice. I'm taking a lot of notes here so I can refer back to them often. Thank you! Member, When youre trying to make lifestyle changes, temptations are the last thing that you need. Temptations can lead to triggers that may put you right back to where you started. Here are some tactics to cope with temptation: 1- Avoid tempting situations. 2- Ask your friends not to tempt you. 3- Minimize the tempting qualities. 4- When tempted, distract yourself. 5- When tempted, remind yourself of your goal. 6- Ask other people to remind you of your goal.
