Dave, Keep reminding yourself of all the benefits. Write a list and keep it in your wallet to pull out every time a craving sneaks up on you. Stay strong! Brenna, Bilingual Health Educator

Tomaz, I'm just a couple of days behind you and what you said rings true with me. I'm in the middle of a big craving myself today. Horrible, I hate it, and it is discouraging. I got one much the same last week, and I did start to wonder - just a little - whether it was worth it. But I hung on, and since then I've had six fairly easy days. So, now I am having another bad day. This time I feel a bit less tempted to give in, because I can see I am going to get this unpleasant feeling from time to time, but then I'll get a break from it; and all the advice (and common sense) says that the cravings will gradually become less strong, and less frequent. So I'm reminding myself of the benefits of quitting, and thinking that while I don't like the craving feeling I've got, it is not as bad as all the negatives that go with starting smoking again. And I know that if I did have one, I'd be back craving another one twenty minutes later. What a drudge! It must be much better to put up with this feeling when it comes, go through the fight, even if it's tough and lasts a while, and come out eventually not craving at all. We can do this! Hey Tomaz, this is the time in all my quits that i seem to lose the battle. The first few weeks I stay so over the top positive, the time just flies by with little or no problems. About week four the cravings take over. This time I prepared myself with a list I keep with me, reminding myself how bad I hate smoking and how bad I felt before I quit. My memory fades a little with time. Hang in there. Tomaz, You are doing really well to get to 4 weeks. Well done. There is no remedy to the discomfort really but it is worth persevering definitely. Good luck and keep posting and reading on here. Hi Tomaz, Congratulations on your 4 weeks! You have proven that you can quit, stay with it and don't smoke! These craving will pass. Just take them one at time. And the good news is, they only get weaker and weaker as time goes by. :) G My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 187 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,610 Amount Saved: $897.60 Life Gained: Days: 19 Hrs: 6 Mins: 48 Seconds: 39

tomaz61, the nicodemon will come at you when you least expect it. The crave thing is how it shows up most. I don't know if it is in our sub-consience or what but the milestones did work against me for a while. A few days before one or a few days after. You will make it. I was still crying daily when I was at your stage and now I can't remember the last time I cried. Remember each time you power through a crave you get stronger. The next one won't be as bad. Your are doing great.
