National Smoke-Free Week!

16 years ago 0 46 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
It's hard to name just one benefit... I love how my house smells. I noticed last week that I don't even have to light a candle to smell their scent. This weekend I noticed a new level of relaxing in my living room. For years I've occupied a end seat by an end table so I could reach an ashtray. I've never really laid out on my couch to watch tv because as soon as I got good and comfortable, I'd have to get up to smoke a cigarette. Another, is that it's much easier for me to keep my car clean. I don't have the smoker's dry mouth, so I don't have to have a beverage with me at all times. It has got to be my health. Eat,Play, cope, hug, smell, talk, laugh, and breath. Life is better not smoking. All of the above were affected by smoking. If I laughed I coughed, ect. I am much more confident of myself, I am coping better than before. I am finding that I do everything better by not smoking. I don't need that cigarette to handle my daily life. The good or the bad. Just knowing I don't have to smoke is a great feeling. Remember, I was the one not sure I could quit. Now I know I can. Hi Josie. How are you doing today? Hope your day is a good one. The most positive aspect for me is that the cravings are beginning to become thoughts. The mental anguish has started to subside. I think I have been a slow learner, so to speak. The roughest parts came for me after hell and heck week. They were followed by )Holy crap week ) I am going nuts week ) O.K. week ) Oh my God, help me week) Not too bad week ) Better yet week ) I am exaggerating a bit but this has been a task not for the faint of heart. I am so happy right now that each day is not such a struggle anymore. And even if it takes longer for some, the good news is that IT DOES COME. Cigarettes Not Smoked

The most positive change..actually it's 2. My not having to hack first thing in the morning, and spit out this black stuff. The other is the increased sense of smell. I still haven't figured out if this is good or not. I can smell a lot of things I really don't want to. The most positive change for me has been not having an anxiety attach because I don't have any cigars to smoke first thing in the morning. Why would anyone want a cigar first thing in the morning. :quest: My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/20/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 307 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,526 Amount Saved: $3,070.00 Life Gained: Days: 74 Hrs: 17 Mins: 22 Seconds: 43
