Hi Dave. I know exactly where you are at right now. There's nothing like being blindsided when you think everything is going so well. Please read Lainey's post called "REALITY" in the Withdrawal forum. It might help you to know that a lot of others have been there and made it through. Hi Dave: Hang in there, you can do it. In fact, we both can do it. I am just a couple of days behind you on this journey, and today has brought some of the strongest cravings so far. They feel just like in the past when I though "just one" would be OK. After several times through that scenario, I am now smarter, and am sure that you can resist as well. Not easy, for sure, but worth it in the long run. Hey, Dave, calm down. It isn't yuor fault & it's nothing to be disappointed about. You're coming up to 3 weeks & it's probably a milestone crave. They can be brutal, but usually don't last long. The good news is that your quit will be much stronger once you get through it, and you will feel well-prepared next time something like this sneaks up on you. And it will, Dave, the junkie in yuor head doesn't give up that easily. You said it was just like day 2, so handle it like you did on day 2. Whatever your coping strategies were in those first few hard days, get them out & put them to work. You can do this, you will do this & it will be so worth it. Oh yeah, and get a reward, too, for those 19 beautiful days, and for coming here instead of giving in. I've got your hand, Dave, & I'm not letting go. Don't you, either. Gawd, where did these come from? Finished work, suddenly desperate to smoke. Went home, done this, done that, and been absolutely gagging for a fag for 5 hours now. It's awful, like day two all over again. I don't know where this has come from. And I am really fed up about it. I thought I was well on the way - gradually getting better and easier, and starting to think I can succeed with this quit; but the fact that I feel like this makes me feel like I've accomplished nothing and got nowhere. And actually I suddenly feel a lot less optimistic about succeeding with this. I'm not at all sure I can put with much of this, it's really hard. I hate it. Oh this is so disapponting. I could hardly feel more upset if I'd smoked.
