I haven't posted for awhile...Don't worry I haven't fallen off the wagon. Just don't have much time to use the computer these days. Day 11 and feeling pretty good. Definitely not as irritable. Have a bit of a cough. That is about it. The urges are fewer and further between.. Thanks for going down this road with me.

Every time you say...."NO".... you get stronger. Each time you say no, it is easier to say no in that same situation the next time. The next time your in the mall you will have the memory you did it before and how good it felt to be proud of yourself. Having respect and selfworth is one of the greatest aspects of quiting smoking. How can one day be so good and another be so rotten?! That's what early quitting is all about for me, mind you i haven't had a rotten day since day 11, so bare with it. It will and does get easier. Just ask yourself, will having a cigarette make anything better? Stay strong and just don't put yourself in harm's way. Smoking will only make your day worse and give you reason to beat yourself up. We are here for you! Hi Mimi, Congratulations on your 10 days!! Yay for you ! It will be like that for a while, good days and bad days. But, the good news is, you are likely to have more good than bad from now on. With hell week behind you, the worst is only a bad memory. That is if you don't smoke ;)! Keep the thoughts of how much better you feel close and know that it even gets better! You deserve a reward! Mimi, This is quite common. You're still quite early in your quit but you'll see as time passes those bad days will come fewer and further apart. For those bad days you'll need to get back to the basic coping strategies that got you through hell week. Don't forget to reward yourself for your hard work. Danielle, Bilingual Health Educator

That is just part of the quit. That evil monster waits until we feel good about quitting and then jumps in and stirs the pot. You are just new at quitting; there are going to be really and I mean really good days, but then there are those days you just plain want to smash something. You are doing great and doing what you are suppose to do and that is not lighting up. I think I spoke to soon. Today.. Day 10 is not going so well. I can't stop thinking about wanting to smoke. Drinking alot of water and breathing deep. How can one day be so good and the next so rotten?
