Cassey, congrats on your decision to quit!! IT is one of the best I have made in a long time. Spend some time reading here, there is a lot, tons of wisdom here, the search feature works great and post if you need HELP - and wait for replies. the workbook on the left is a great tool also. Thank you everyone for the support. If I would have had this center the las time I tried to quit I propably would have never started again. I really appreciate all of your support. It makes it easier knowing that I'm not alone.

Hi Cassy, if you are anything like me you will find tomorrow will be a little easier. Day 2-3 were mood swings but just a touch easier to deal with cravings on day 3 than day 2. I am up to day 8 now. Each day gets a little easier with a few less cravings. It's a matter of keeping busy for me. Mainly my mind, i have to do things that will keep my mind busy so that i don't keep dwelling on "quitting smoking" and "not being able to have one". No dwelling, unless it is positive. You have gotten over the biggest hurdle - making the decision and going for it. Day one sucked, day two does also, so does day three etc. but each one a little less than the one before. Stay strong and come here often for the support that you need! Cassy, Hi and welcome to the site. Two days! That's great! I'll quit on this Thursday and I'll give my left arm to get to Saturday without smoking... think of it... the full flood of nicotine levels in the system are already weakening - take a big war club and bash the balance out of your mind. I've been smoking these "air" cigarettes for two days now and I can feel the nicotine bellowing for stronger supplies. In withdrawal but not even quit yet! Damn! And you've got two days in - that's fantastic! Cassy, welcome. Don't let that inter voice tell you it is not worth it. It is so worth the withdrawal and to come out as a non smoker. Like Anna said drink that water, pace, scream at the moon. Like someone said in another post get a hammer and nails and pound away. Just don't smoke, you will be so glad you didn't. Cassy, if you want to quit smoking you have to suffer just a little! Drink lots of water to flush out the nicotine from your body. Chew gum, suck on mints, eat nuts. Just don't smoke. Get happy about what you are doing for yourself. Each day you will feel a little better if you alow yourself to! Cassy, You made a bold and terrific decision to quit. We know how hard it is, and how angry we can become. The first week is the worst, but it does get better. Before you cave in, just think of how nice it'll be to gain back some of your life. You'll also be saving money! Reward yourself for the two days you've been through, and take it an hour at a time. I smoked for 35 years, and if I can do it, anyone can. Hang in there, and please post before you smoke. By the way, welcome to the SSC and let's make another successful quit. cassy, Hold out until the end of the day. Better yet, make a plan on how you are going to relax and ease that stress when you get home. Use this plan every night and see that relaxing yourself and unwinding can help you start your day refreshed. Your body is healing and it will need a break :) Josie, Health Educator

I'm sitting at work being annoyed by everything and feel like my lungs are about to explode. It's been two days I don't even want to think about how I'm going to feel tomorrow.
