kristilu, Den is very wise. I generally go by these rules.. Rule #1 - Watch the Coffee as it will send you hypo & you may bounce off the walls. Rule #2 - Avoid people that drive you insane ! Rule #3 - Walk away from trouble. Rule #4 - if you start to loose it, clear the mind & deep breaths +... Rule #5 - exercise regularly it works wonders along with Rule #4 Why i have these rules you may ask...... the voices tell me to. I give you permission to scream & smash something. Thank you Den, you have been so supportive. I will be right behind you and can't wait until you're at 30 days and I'm at 26....then on and on and on, until we're veterans here! :) I am listening to all yall have said and taking it all in. And learning from my mistakes. Hi Kristi As you know i can sooo relate to what you are going thru. I have just gone thru the exact same things, and sometimes still are. Trust me, each day does get easier - and i am only on the end of day four. My mood is more stable today then yesterday - will it be tomorrow? No idea. i am just thankful today was a little more easier than yesterday. We CAN and WILL do this!!! I will UPS you ONE DOZEN hammers if that is what it takes to help you out!! Grab a hold of that inner strength that i know you have and run with it. Stay away from those triggers, whether it be people, places or things. Mine is coffee and this room. I limit myself to one coffee a day at work, in my office where i can't smoke after that it is green tea and water - hate the stuff but i believe right now it can only help me. Stay strong chick - i am here for you! Kristilu, Some great advice for the other members. Anger is very commonly associated to quitting smoking, there are some great old posts kicking around in the forums. They are full of stories and advice to help you through it. Brenna, Bilingual Health Educator

Kristulu, as Sue and Sparky have said... it gets better, and relatively quickly. My worst craving of the day, in the beginning, was after work. The morning wasn't terrible, not even after eating was all that bad... but after work... that was a big challenge. I would race home and crank up the computer... and head right to SSC to talk, to read... to seek motivation and inspiration. And I guess I found what I needed, because here I am 309 days later... still smoke-free... and 95% of the time... it's a piece of cake. And the other 5%? It's not bad at all. It's a walk in the park compared to any of the cravings I had in the first while after quitting. But, I had 'em... just as you do know. And, like you, I had to get through them in order to get to where I am today. Shut the door. Make peace with the knowledge that there's no going back. As soon as you do that... it'll get easier. Congratulations, Kristilu. You're not a slave today, and you never have to be again.
