Day 5 - still hangin' in there!

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Sparky. I must really get back to my e-mails again. I didn't spend any time on the computer over the holidays at all. Stressful time, plus guilty feelings for still smoking. Ah well...life goes on, one day at a time. Oh yeah, the physical and the psychological. It was same for me. Quitting got to be easy, but that darn psychological crap always got me into trouble, but you know that already. So glad to see you on day 5, keep it going. Keeping occupied is my #1 priority! In fact, I was at the grocery store today, and yes, I'm a label reader too. I enjoy shopping. My dogs keep me walking and that really helps. Smoking to me is divided into the physical and the psychological. The physical part is easy...I wear a patch. The emotional part on the other hand, well that's what I'm working at one step at a time. I really must say, I'm happy to be back. Oh and the reward? Hubby and I are going out for supper on Saturday. No cooking! WOO HOO! Way to go Jan, sounds like you have the right idea. I don't know if house cleaning is on my mind yet either. But, I too am looking forward to American Idol. That ought to keep us occupied! LOL Jan, when does housework sound appealing? Yes,staying busy is a very good idea. You've got a good list of things started there, just be sure keep adding to it. Whatever it takes to keep your hands busy and mind off of smoking. I always enjoyed taking my own sweet time at the grocery store and reading the ingredient labels.(I know, that's pretty pathetic, I am a bit boring!! :p) But, the grocery store is nonsmoking and kept my mind off of smoking. Congrats on your 5 days. You are doing it!! G :) p.s. I'd be happy to tell you how much fun I had organizing my tupperware cabinet ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 172 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,160 Amount Saved: $825.60 Life Gained: Days: 17 Hrs: 17 Mins: 58 Seconds: 40

Good for you Jan. Don't sit around the house and watch tv. Get moving. Take a walk, go to the mall, go to a museum, check out the library, just move. It is hard to crave when you are moving around. (plus it is good for the booty) :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/8/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 366 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,490 Amount Saved: $1,537.20 Life Gained: Days: 34 Hrs: 18 Mins: 33 Seconds: 38

Morning! I'm still hanging in there, although I must admit there's been a few moments when I felt like pulling my hair out. I'm relying on water, tv shows, and walking the dogs. American Idol starts soon. That'll keep me occupied for a few hours a week. Housework however...doesn't seem so appealing the today. Oh well...one day at a time. Have a great smoke free day! Cheers, Jan ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/5/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 120 Amount Saved: $34.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 11 Mins: 52 Seconds: 1
