FLU BUGS hits home

Hey there We are all pretty much back to normal. But no Jen wasn't food poisoning. A 24 hour viral stomach thing is going around. Friends have gotten it as well as coworkers of David's. 24 hours of feeling like a dead thing walking and than 24 hours of recoup and back to normal.

Hi there! I know it is so very hard, but try to realize that your anxiety/panic symptoms are most likely just normal feelings that come with the flu. They are very easily translinked into "anxiety" symptoms because when you feel a physical sensation, a red flag goes up in your brain saying "Oh no! My body feels different and this isn't good!" Then panic switch then turns on. I know that is so much easier said than done, but you have more important things to worry about than panic, just get you and your family better :) On another note, did all of you get sick in the last 24-72hrs? Could it be food poisoning? Just rest, try and drink lots of fluids (or if you can keep jello or popsicles down) and try to relax. Watch some funny movies........ Good luck! Jen

Occasionally. I was originally diagnosed with IBS but the psych says its mainly the anxiety. I live on immodium (under dr's orders)

Shellie- When you don't have the flu, do you still find yourself running to the bathroom? IBS-Irritable Bowel Syndrome feels the same way: a) Extreme and immediate need to go with little or no warning. (This has made me late for work and appts.) b) Or not going for days on end and not realizing it until you can't get out of the bathroom from being backed up. Della

Thank you Adrenaline. I managed a hour cat nap. I woke up running for bathroom. Hate this flu crud. Watching the kids gives me mixed reactions to what to expect. Some are feeling better within 24 hrs and others are still feeling cruddy. The anxiety has kind of worn off but yes I am fearing a recurrence

I am just gettint over from being sick, I don't believe it was the flu, just sore throat, achy and nausea. Lasted for about three days. I will get panick symptons when I get sick. If I am sick for longer than 4 or 5 days, then I start to obesses that its something worse than a bug. When my childern were little and be sick also, I would surely panick. I would have thoughts like what if I can't handle it and lose control in front of my childern. My oldest son would have deluisions when he would get a fever and that would freak me out. The doctors told if it last for longer than 45 min to take him to the hospital. Thank god they never lasted that long and he out grew it. I would tell myself that this won't last forever. You need to take extra care of your self and let things go that can be dealt with later and don't obsesses on things that you feel you won't be able to catch up on. Order out food and ask some one to run errands. People really do like to help others. Your body will be getting some of the medication even if you are exiting it out both ends. So don't give up. My doctor told us, When you are feeling a little better and think it might be safe to eat or drink any thing,I as to take a sip of water and wait 15 minutes and if you were able to keep it down do it again and wait 5 minutes and so on. It is good indicator to how much you want to ingest if you are still vomiting. One last thing and all give it a rest in Dr. claries Weeks book she warns us that when the flu or being ill, we will experience the same symptons that of panick and not to be to thrown out of sorts, because of it. Take Care!

I have some but I doubt they'll work. OUr bodies are basically flushing from both ends. I have managed to keep the tranq down for over 3 hrs now. So I think I am safe. Now if I could rid myself of the tummy flu as easily

Do you think a Phenagren suppository would help? It should keep the nausea down while you get your meds in your system. Della
