Smells...Good or Bad

16 years ago 0 2223 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
The smells is one of the things i notice most, i smell everything !!!! i notice everything that has a smell good and bad, to me cigaretts stink very much, i can smell them on people that get around me, that stale wet smell of someone that just came in from outside from having a smoke, the smell just hangs up in what ever they are wearing :( just my 2 cents on this subject Tresa My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/8/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1978 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 39,560 Amount Saved: $6,923.00 Life Gained: Days: 282 Hrs: 18 Mins: 4 Seconds: 53

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

16 years ago 0 30 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I keep waiting for the increased smelling ability Ive read about but so far the only thing I can really smell is a cig. Ive heard everyone talk about how bad they stink but I gotta be honest, they smell wonderful to me. Because I like.. LOVE... the smell so much I know its a temptation so I get away from it immediately but Id be lying if I said I didnt want to stay and just smell it.. however I know that would eventually lead to just one puff, just one cig, pretty soon Id be a smoker again.... walking away almost makes me want to cry, but I keep walking away in the hopes that someday it wont bother me as much as it does now. Sorry if this post seems a bit random and scattered, Im recovering from a b-day party with 14 giggling 11 yr old girls LOL but I survived it smokefree ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/10/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 27 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,350 Amount Saved: $219.38 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 10 Mins: 14 Seconds: 23

My wife quit the day after me, and she doesn't mind the smell either. In fact she told me that she likes the cigarette smell. By the way, a big congratulations on your first month!! I tried snow golf when I lived in Syracuse...it's just too cold! I was hoping that the smell of cigs would be unpleasant but it has been opposite for me. I hope that changes. I haven't noticed a change in my sense of smell or taste yet. Moss Goofy, it's 8 degrees here. how 'bout some snow golf? They actually play that here with bright orange oversized golf balls. As a matter of fact, yes I am thrilled I don't smell like that anymore! I guess I miss going outside. I just came back inside because I was told it's a beautiful day. It's 74 deg., sunshine, and a beautiful blue sky. I should be playing golf. Keeping with my quit though. Goofy, An orange that you picked! That must smell great! A lot of ex-smokers have an aversion to the smell of cigarettes after they quit. Aren't you happy you don't smell like that anymore? You will adjust to your new sense, it will just take some time. Brenna, Bilingual Support Specialist

I guess you have a point Brenna. I just finished an orange that I picked, and my hands smell pretty good. I really can't handle the smell of my co-workers when they come in from smoking. I hope this is something I'll overcome because I can't sit near them. I still have to work closely with them. Goofy, One of the benefits of quitting smoking is that you can smell more, both good and bad. Just think of the spring time when the flowers are starting to grow, then you will appreciate that new found sense of smell :). Brenna, Bilingual Support Specialist

Oh, I hope I didn't offend anybody! I mean, OTHER people have poor hygiene. Not anyone on this wonderful site! Especially us Octobreathers, we all smell like roses! ;p Ok, seriously, I am a civil servant and deal with members of the public all day long. Sometimes people have...um.....odors.....it could be they ate garlic at lunch...it could be they were a little over-dressed and not properly...ah...ventilated.....it could be many different factors... I think you all know what I mean. Ha ha! I hear you Goofy! I can smell things I'd rather not too. People, in general....sometimes have not so good hygiene. My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/29/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 51 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 612 Amount Saved: $208.08 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 2 Mins: 7 Seconds: 21
