I remember you BJ! Congratulations on your awesome quit! You are amazing. You quit in spite of having a smoker in your house. That takes a lot of strength and determination and you found it. AMAZING! Cigarettes Not Smoked

17 years ago 0 75 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Two years ago at 9:30pm I had my last cigarette after 17 years of smoking a pack a day, sometimes a pack and a half a day. I did it cold turkey because I felt that having a patch on meant that i hadn't really quit yet and I wanted to give myself a chance to do it on my own because i knew if i wanted it bad enough i could do it on my own. I'm proud to say that i never cheated, there was never a "oh i'll just have this one" there was nothing after that last butt. I will say that i have smoked MANY times in my dreams hehehe...guess if i'm gonna do it that is the best place to do it!! I've gotten to the point now where i can say i'll never smoke again....i couldn't do that for a long time because it was too scarry to say that which i'm sure many of you understand that. All i did was say i'm not gonna smoke today and took it day by day after that. My husband still smokes and he still does even though a friend of ours(she is 46 yrs old) was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer 5 months ago. It annoys me that he is so ignorant but i know that me preaching to him won't make him quit...he has to be ready and want it just like i was...i couldn't of done it if i weren't ready. I just hope he will be ready before it's too late. Anyway to those of you who are preparing to quit for New Years...Hang in there & don't give up because this is your life...fight, kick and scream your way thru withdrawals~keep busy by doing crosswords, jiggsaw puzzles, reading, staying busy helps and this website helps too so use it~it is so worth it!! Good luck to all and Happy New Year!!
