16 years ago 0 911 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Lady I just got home from a party. I was drinking, people were smoking all around me. In fact this whole vacation has been a temptation. I didn't do it. No you cannot smoke. You are a major reason I got to where I am. Please do not let me down. Lots of Luv, Audrey PS: Please forgive, did not read this thread My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/16/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 348 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,960 Amount Saved: $974.40 Life Gained: Days: 33 Hrs: 20 Mins: 38 Seconds: 4

We know that we can not smoke and we know that we don't want to smoke. It is appropriate to take the high road on this one and let our intellect be the guide. We have loads of experience getting by without one puff. Early shut eye works wonders and how about a little ice cream, or chocolate, tea, hot shower or bath. Have an "A" you can't smoke nor can I. It also sounds that you have achieved the " I don't want to smoke" as well milestone! if you want Lady, but it aint going to help take off that weight any easier, trust me I know this!! You don't mean it anyway, like our wise friend Kelly said, don't vocalize that stuff, you know who is putting them words in your head right? okay so kick him out and move on. You are such a valiant soldier, deep breath, a few prayers and get with the program. You know what to do, so do it. and it will be much easier now that you are breathing easy won't it? Hang tough now. xo Sue My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/3/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 240 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,400 Amount Saved: $420.00 Life Gained: Days: 22 Hrs: 20 Mins: 32 Seconds: 35

I'm going through the same feelings that you are. :( I keep fighting it off and fighting it off, because i'm pretty sure that I know what is causing it. My life has just become unstable - I don't know what to expect from day to day and it's really horribly hard right now. So many problems - more problems than anyone could even put into words. So - I think really.. what I want isn't to smoke.. What I want is to go backwords in time - to have my old life back.. when things were easier. Smoking just has become a representation of that life for me. I saw in a post a few days back that were under a ton of stress right now.. I don't know if the wanting to smoke is the same thing for you or not, but figured it couldn't hurt to share. My thoughts are with you. Lady - I'm right there with you on the weight thing - I've gained 25-30 pounds since I originally quit and I'm having a hard time really buckling down to try and lose it. But I wouldn't trade my quit for anything, esp not for the weight. I'd rather be a size 12 non-smoker than a size 6 smoker! (Actually I'd prefer the size 6 non-smoker if that model is available to me! ;)) Whatever it takes hold onto that glorious quit. By the way, did the doc check your thyroid, blood sugar, etc..? That's my next step - did I mention that I've been having a problem with chronic hives and discovered some allergies I never knew I had? (Peanuts, almonds and walnuts - all after a lifetime of eating peanut butter!) Anyway, point is - DON'T SMOKE!! - Freemom My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/29/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 275 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,300 Amount Saved: $1,122.00 Life Gained: Days: 25 Hrs: 12 Mins: 1 Seconds: 19

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

16 years ago 0 1985 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
And so you have recognized that smoking is not a good answer for filling a void. It is a horrible addiciton. Pehaps volunteer work, hobbies, places where you can meet and be with people might be what you are looking for. You don't need the smoke, at all; one of us do!
