Burping?

19 years ago 0 55 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Sammi The pills that you are talking about are enteric coated, which means they start to break down and absorb only once they pass through the stomach. If pills are not scored (do not have a line through them) the general rule of thumb is not to break them in half. Also, follow the pharmacy instruction booklet and be aware of administration technique and possible side effects the medication will cause. I am not sure what medication you are on, therefore I am uncertain as to what sypmtoms (burping, gas) might be associated with your meds. Hope this helps Angela _____________________________ The Panic Center Support Team Edited on 12/1/2004 @ 3:33:18 PM by The Support Team

TOSam, I have noticed that I seem to have alot of gas also. I wondered if its a side effect of my meds, just part of having panic or anxiety, or just purely coincidental. Alot of times after I eat a meal I have such pressure in my chest from the gas that its very uncomfortable. I cant tell you how many panic attacks I've had and felt like I was dying of a heart attack, then eventually I would burp and everything would be ok. I have also been told by my doctor that I have acid reflux. It doesn't always bother me though, just sometimes. (I get heartburn and terrible indigestion.) I have read that some meds for these things can coat your stomach in such a way that it prevents other medications from being absorbed into your system. I dont know if that is true or not, but you might want to be careful if you are on meds for your panic/anxiety. Sammi

Hey everyone, does anyone have a lot of burping when they eat or drink anything, even water? I burp for like hours after anything and it hurts all on my left side and sometimes lower left back. I went to the GI doctor today and he said it "could" be anxiety (which is an easy way out for them!), so does anyone else have this problem with so much gas and pain? Sam S
