It is almost 2 years since I stopped smoking. During the last two years, I have been diagnosed with emphysema, and became part of a study group on the impact of exercise for people with COPD. I have found that the exercises have greatly improved my ability to breath and to do more things without getting out of breath. I now curl with a women's non competative league, and voluneer at the local hospital to keep myself busy. It helps doing these activity not being a smoker, as I do not have to find time to go and have that cigarette. I can no say that these last 2 years have been the greatest, especially when the old urges would hit me, but I can say that I feel better than I did when I smoked and will not be going back to smoking. I want to wish everyone who supported me during these last 2 years a very Merry Christmas and have a great smoke free 2008.
