Hi Sparky, I, too joined in May of 2006... Well as you can see it has been a long journey for me!!! The best news is that we have made it this far & nothing will get in our way. This site has made all the difference and I wish everyone that wants to quit can find us... This is the only way to go!!! You know I have been thinking (dangerous for me) a lot the last few days about my journey here on SSC. I joined in May of 2006 with all the confidence I was ready to quit. I am sure when you look at my stats you can see that was not to be. I went on a long year's journey of quits and smoking again. Why some can quit so easily and why it is hard for others I don't know. I do appreciate every quit and every relapse I have had. Why? My relapses taught me humility and empathy. I saw my husband put his cigarettes down almost five years ago and never looked back. He has also saw me struggle and struggle and never judge me once. With that kind of support you can not help but want to keep trying. And because he showed so much support; I learned I could do the same for other. It is never to late. Then I found this site. WOW!!! I found answers, support and lots of wonderful new friends. I did a search on my name tonight and saw some of my old posts and the wonderful support I received. Some are no longer on the site and some are still here helping the newcomers just like they helped me. So what is the point of this post? Just reflections. So for those of you who are new and are wondering if you can do this, yes you can!!! Thank you for letting me come back again and again. Thank you mods for all the help you have given me and others. Oh, my goodness what a ride.
