Welcome to the SSC Frosty! This is a great place to quit smoking. I never would have made it without the support of the awesome people here. Yes, the site makes you think of smoking but the people around here will hold you accountable for your quit as well (at least they did me). Boy do I know those "stress" moments well! Funny thing is that smoking just makes it more stressful not less. That is hard to believe but it is true. One day at a time is all you have to make it through. Drink plenty of ice water, take deep breaths and keep putting one foot in front of the other. It sounds like you are doing great! Welcome Frosty, Congratulations on your decision to quit and on 9 days smoke free! I have a 15 year daughter and can relate to the hair pulling days. You've made it through some tough days on your own and deserve a pat on the back for your determination to stay quit!! You have us here anytime you need to vent, or need some encouragement during tough times. Frosty, Welcome to the support group and thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about your former smoking habits. Take a look through your Glove Compartment and get started on the program if you haven't already. Keep us posted along your quit. Congratulations on your 10 days! Are you planning any rewards for yourself? Brenna, Bilingual Support Specialist

I appologize for not introducing myself and saying 'hello' before now. I was experiencing SEVERE withdrawals from my 50-60 cigs a day habit. At first visiting this site only made me think about cigs more so I stayed away until I had a little better control of myself lol. Anywho.. my name is Tammy Im a 37 yr old stay at home mom of two wonderful kids ages 10 & 13. I decided to quit smoking on Dec 7th (my 37th birthday) but waited until a Monday Dec 10th to actually quit. Im now starting on my 10th day smokefree and I feel really good about this quit (my 2nd attempt) I find that Im MOST tempted to smoke during stressful times. Whether its ...putting my 13 yr old son 'in his place' or taking my 77 yr old mother Christmas shopping, you know those 'I wanna pull my hair out' days lol ... thats when I feel the urge to smoke. I keep telling myself "If I can make it through this smokefree, I can make it through anything" So far its working, I know its only day 10 but Im hanging in there ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/10/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 450 Amount Saved: $73.13 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 19 Mins: 17 Seconds: 1
