Survived the Potluck

Great Job Ginette! I, too, went to a pot luck this weekend and there were many smokers having their cigs and I,too, considered getting a ciggarrette from one of them!! It's good that you are learning to deel with these things now! (I didn't go and socialize a whole lot after first I quit) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 519 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 38,925 Amount Saved: $9,731.25 Life Gained: Days: 45 Hrs: 6 Mins: 47 Seconds: 44

Gen, a potluck is where everybody brings something to eat...everybody chips in on the food. Thanks guys for your confidence. It means a lot to me. You'll soon be amazed at how you can watch the smokers and NOT have that thought. What is a 'potluck' by the way. Always wanted to know when I've read about them. Well done you anyway for being so strong and keep up the good work. I feel pretty good about myself. I had to leave early from the potluck because I was feeling terribly anxious and edgy...even had the shakes. The crowd was getting to me. I was standing at the door waiting for a cab and watched all the smokers standing outside having a smoke. I stood inside as I watched them and they were out there freezing their yahoos off. I was thankful that I was a non-smoker but I did crave for a cigarette and for a fleeting moment I was going to ask one of them if I could buy a cigarette from them. I'm sure happy that I didn't. Actually I think I would have preferred staying home last night. It would have been better for me. At least I survived the potluck. More and more I feel like a non-smoker which is great for me. This is Day 8 for me now and when I got up this morning I wasn't craving a cigarette that much. It's a good feeling. I'm done hell week now and I'm hoping it gets a little easier. How are you doing Alpha? Haven't heard from you in a while now. I hope you're doing good.
