Well Done Kev, As for the assistant, I think you need to be bold. Try spilling some mouthwash on her tunic and then wipe it off with the tissue she gave you earlier (aww, sweet), remembering to linger in the wiping position for as long as your nerve will hold - she'll be well-impressed!! :p Congratulations on 5 months today!!!! By Jove he's got it, I think he's got it!! :8o: All The Best Penitent d1303 :)

Hi Kev, Just back in the office after a couple of days away at workshops. Wow - that was one work over at the dentist! So you got through in once piece. You have been immensely brave to get through that. I hope your fear gets a bit less now that you know what happens. I am back on Monday to have my crown fitted - which should be the easy bit since all that drilling stuff has been done. And many congratulations on your beach reward! That is an inspired choice, and an excellent reminder. Many of us buy something to mark a given milestone - it is there of daily proof of our achievement. I detect that in the occassional rash moment, you are even starting to entertain the possibility that you might make it. ;p Anyway, don't think, just do! You are doing absolutely great, Kevin. Stay in the zone. Lizzie :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/23/2003 Smoke-Free Days: 1694 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 25,410 Amount Saved: 6,352.50 Life Gained: Days: 169 Hrs: 10 Mins: 1 Seconds: 26

Kev, ugh! I hate dentists. I got braces at an unreal age - 9 or 10, had them, and head gear I had to wear it to middle school. IN FRONT OF PEOPLE!! I still wear a retainer. I had to get 4 teeth pulled for over crowding...fainted. I got gassed once and threw up on the dentist. I require 4-5 shot of Novacaine or I insist that I can still feel it. I have known my current dentist since I was 18. We have an understanding, he doesn't hurt me and I don't hit him again :D He is so proud of me for quitting smoking, he told me I can keep my teeth now. See Kev, just another benefit - lovely teeth for your lovely smile in your handsome face! xo Sue My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/3/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 222 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,220 Amount Saved: $388.50 Life Gained: Days: 21 Hrs: 3 Mins: 45 Seconds: 55

I've not been really reading the dentist stories obviously. I didn't know these these were your first ever fillings! How come you were so afraid? You're incredibly lucky that you've got to your age without having one. I had half my teeth filled and about 6 of the others removed when I was about 14 so I've always been careful with the ones I have left! My daughter, however, was absolutely FURIOUS to have to have a filling - age 24 - after all those years of brushing religiously. Well done on your 150 day milestone. Sorry I missed it on the day. You are doing so well. Hope Grace is too! Nice to see you both. You ALWAYS brighten up my day. I swear I couldn't really do it without you brightsiders encouraging me. It really is amazing what friendly support can do. I feel I CAN do it. Today I pretended to be a brave boy for my friends here and for my niece grace (who really wouldn't have minded if I wasn't). I went to the dentist and had my first ever fillings. Unfortunately, I went and opened my big mouth (thats what they like you to do in dentists) and said, I wondered if the cavities you pointed out last time were causing me pain in this little back tooth. So guess who also endured an extraction too! Ok, I hyperventilated which wasn't too great on the impressing the dentist assistant tip.
