Hi guys! Yeah, I made it thru the crave last night! Walking the dog really evened out that craving. Today, I was so busy at work that I didn't even think about smoking. But I think I'll need the patch as a crutch, so I'm going to finish the program even though my body will have to put up with that nicotine...better in a patch than in a deathstick! Hope you guys have a great night! Thanks for the support as always :) :) Ciao! Lungs, walking the dog was a great idea, I hope it helped. You know, that cigarette would not have tasted good nor relaxed you. It would have tasted like crap on stale toast and would have set you up for that restless, jittery, icky feeling in another 20 minutes. Patch or no patch, you have learned enough in 10 days to deal with a craving and not fall for the junkie lies. You just proved it. The patch is doing what it's supposed to, which is help you recognize and devise strategies for psychological cravings. What you're doing is working, so keep doing it! Hi Ilovemylungs I'm also on the patch. Have 4 more weeks of Step 1 and then I'll be weaning off after that. It does help. I'm also going through some cravings but nothing I can't tolerate. I'm hoping it gets easier. Hang in there. You can do it. Hey Ilovemylungs! Yikes! I used to carry spare patches with me, at all times, after that happened to me a couple of times at work! It is nasty! Glad you made it though, finish up your patch program all the way through, it really does work when you do it the way it was meant to be done! And it is much easier to step off them when you are down at 7mg. Hang in there you're almost throught the worst two weeks and then you will be laughing! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 272 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,800 Amount Saved: $2,869.60 Life Gained: Days: 33 Hrs: 7 Mins: 6 Seconds: 44

Everytime you deny the crave the next crave loses power. That's how it works. Don't give in and it will only get easier. Stay strong!

Are you back from walking yet??? That was a very good plan. Did you know that cravings only last a few minutes??? Everytime you make it through one they will begin to die down. It is when you feed them they will continue to want MORE and MORE and MORE. Don't forget to drink lots of water to flush nic out of your system. Also, this is only my advice, take it or leave it... If you are already withdrawing from the nicotine, continue on without the patch. When you put the patch on you will be putting more nic in your system. (remember, just my opinion...) would be better than this crave....ARGH! I forgot my patches in a town 2 hours away and I've had to do all day without one. It's been brutal. All I can think about is how good a cigarette would taste right now, how relaxing it would be just to sit back and puff away. BUT! I know that if I smoke just that one cigarette to relax me now, then I'll have to start smoking every hour. I'll have to drive on my way to work and stink up my car. I'll constantly be embarassed about smelling like smoke. Having to buy tons of gum to cover up the smell. $4 a day. OK, I'm taking the dog for a walk.... ARGH!
