Jasper Carrot-- is that a show or a name? ... or a side dish? Love the name if it's a name. You are brilliant as always, Kev. Keep the posts up because they are awesome, as are you. Feeling squimish-- I'm sure you have an opinion on this. I'm having surgery next tuesday, and have never been put under. I'm more nervous about this than the actual surgery. My doctor seems to be taking a particular delight in reminding me that the recovery will be exceptionally painful. I keep reminding him that I've had two kids.... he keeps laughing at me when I say that. worried he may be a secret sadist planning to do mean ouchy extra things while I'm knocked out. He may not appreciate me poo-pooing his comments on the pain thing, and to keep in good standing as a knowledgeable informer.... you know.... he might feel professionally obliged to keep his word. This is a secondary worry. Maybe this is why we all smoked in the first place. We are all hopeless neurotics. Not such a bad fate. I can think of worse. deb My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 28 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 672 Amount Saved: $196.56 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 17 Mins: 41 Seconds: 41

I am breaking my own rules again! Penitent, you spotted a flaw in my logic :) To be a model employee I have to give up reading too! I have been sneaking a peek today when I can and wanted to congrat my friend kelly on her beachday. I am the ultimate penitent penitent :) Lizzie, really glad all went well at the dentist. Pleased you reported back. With reference to the blues, yes I hope they lift soon. I think the key is to not think. It is very easy for me to forget about JFDI and slip back into deep thinking and deciding that my input into the world is zero and that I would be better off out of it. I ordered some more books to keep me occupied. Good news is that I managed to stop my touchpad on my laptop from working, which I had been trying to do and failing and wanting a smoke too. So yet another accomplishment. Though I have to truly thank my dad for finding the device driver. Anyway I promised not to talk about negatives and concentrate on the positives. Which brings me to ... Gen, love ya! Mouthwash, cleaned teeth 10 times, I did the works too. Not that i actually cared whether the dentist knew I smoked or not. Can't stand deal or no deal! Not a Noel fan I am afraid. Jasper Carrot on the other hand... Kelly, hope you are having a great party! p.s. thanks for clearing that up for me btw. HUGS from Kev. HUGS from Kev See you on Saturday, hopefully I can catch up quickly. Hi Kev. Just Hi. It's Monday afternoon so you won't be on here....... Absolutely chucking it down with rain and dark and cold. I should have been stitching but got sidetracked with sorting out some bits of things, finding old photographs in the process, sending them using the new toy (scanner) to anyone I thought might be interested and then I came on here and now it's 4 o'clock and nearly time for 'Deal or No Deal' and a cup of tea so all my resolve has gone. Can't share in the dentist stories but do remember the fear of going to him and having him smell the smoke because he always did - under the mouthwash and toothpaste so it's lovely to know that when I do go back to see him I can smile and breath heavily - with confidence! Hope you are OK. Hi Kev, I am sorry that you are feeling blue, and hope it will lift very soon. Hey, I survived the dentist again today for my crown preparation. It was not much fun, but I got through it OK. Not only did I not think about smoking, I can't even remember when I last thought about smoking. When I was still smoking, I would have to time everything very carefully....have a cig, and then wash my hair, brush my teeth, change my clothes. I was embarassed that I smelt so bad. Even so, the dentist would always comment on my yellow tobacco stains and plaque build up. After the treatment, I would rush outside and light up....lop sided, grimacing, cig in mouth, having to hold it there because my mouth was still numb. So glad I have left those days behind. The further you go in this journey, and when "the fog" starts to lift, the more you appreciate what an amazing gift quitting smoking is. You will be here too. Hey, thanks Kev! I wasn't not talking to you. I was not talking. I know what you mean about the work thing. It's easy to get lost in this site and neglect other things. I am working on that myself. We'll be fine, though and we can always post before and after work. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 99 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,970 Amount Saved: $579.15 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 21 Mins: 18 Seconds: 32

Hi young Kelly, nice to see you. Well you see, it is me attempting to be a model employee. Only posting on work stuff etc. Since I quit smoking, I went completely unstable (to say the least) so this is my attempt to do something right. It may or may not last. Given that my life revolves around this place. It is part of the adjustments I am attempting to make. Hence I would like to celebrate your wonderful arrival on the beach in advance. You young Kelly, rock! And I am glad you are talking to me again. I can't do fancy graphics but I will do it text stylee... C - O - N - G - R - A -T -S I wrote it in my diary too! :) Now you gotta think how you want to party! JDK, I don't the dental procedure you are having however I have had my share over the last 12 years, bone graphs on 9 teeth, lowering of the gums in all 4 quads, a molar just pulled, all without being knocked out. The use a local and laughing gas for the both graphs which took 2 1/2 hours, sun glasses and I listened to Eldon John on CDs. I alive and still here and have a good chance of keeping most of my teeth for another 10 years. Don't worry. It will work out!!
