:)yes, everyone had very kind words for me. And I appreciate each of ya. I am so sorry to have bothered anyone about my personal problems. I was just so hurt and needed someone. So once again thank you all. I can't say how all of this mess will turn out, but one thing remains the same, we LOVE our granddaughters so very much.! As to why their parents have done this, it is beyond me. It just came out of the "blue". Anyway, I think I will make it tho. My daughter in law told my youngest granddaughter that she wouldn't give me 3months!!! Wellllllllllllll here I am! But hey, like I told my son, I have done this for ME! No one else. So hey, I WILL make it if not for any other reason except to prove them wrong!!! OMT, I know how hard it is to live apart from those we hold so dear and love so much. Life can be difficult at times so we must make the most of those precious times that we do share together and know always that smoking will never improve the frequency nor the quality of those meetings. Chin up and Good Luck! Penitent d1283 :)

:)Thank you all for your words of kindness. I made it thru the whole day and night. The words and encouragement from ya are just the push I needed. Thank you all so very very much!! I pray things will work out in my family. And yes it's beyond my control. My "girls" are so dear in my heart and their Grandpa's too. But I don't want them to see or hear any hurtful things between any of us. So with an aching heart, Grandma and Grandpa are just going to "step" back. They are 10 and 8 and so beautiful. We will miss a lot, but hopefully they will hold us some place in their hearts. Anyway, I do so hope each of ya have a wonderful Thanksgiving and please be safe. And hey, just for me..........give someone a loving hug! Wow I just found this post and I don't believe the arrogance of your son and daughter in law.Now I don't know the circumstances of this decision and probably should mind my own business but I know what I'd be telling them " fine and you can come and see me when I say so ".Something good well your a dam fine individual who has overcome a major addiction and you deserve better from your son and daughter in law. My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/20/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 247 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,446 Amount Saved: $2,470.00 Life Gained: Days: 56 Hrs: 9 Mins: 30 Seconds: 1

I'll tell you something VERY good! Not a long time from now you will be celebrating ONE YEAR QUIT. So, organise a party and invite your family! Oh and by the way, you can invite me too; I'll act as peacekeeper if necessary and also, I'll be celebrating 2 years the day after your celebration. Chin Up!! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 647 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 19,410 Amount Saved: 4,852.50 Life Gained: Days: 103 Hrs: 22 Mins: 18 Seconds: 28

I am sorry for your trouble right now, but remember as Anna said, it will change nothing if you smoke regarding your problem, it won't help. Non-smokers manage stress without smoking, find your way, gather those coping skills and begin. Hi OneMoreTime! You asked "will it get to me?" - well, do you want it to? We always have the choice to smoke but we choose not to. Over and over and over again. You've just got to keep choosing not to and reward yourself for that decision. Some things are out of our control but our reaction to them is ours to choose. You don't want to smoke and that 'friend' is harmful, mean and will only leave you wanting more. The best thing you can do for your granddaughters is give them the gift of a healthy you that will be around for a long time. You've added over $1000 to your bank account and 34 Days to your life by not smoking. You can do a lot of spoiling with that! Isn't that what grandparents are for? ;p One year is just on the horizon - hang tight and all the best to you and your family. Cigarettes Not Smoked

Whatever the reason is behind your son's decision, smoking is not going to change anything. As a matter of fact, if you do turn to smoking, you will have yet another problem on your hands. Do not trade your health for a misunderstanding, things always work out (it may take time, but they always do.) If you go back to smoking now, who is to say you will quit again. Please, stay focused. You do not smoke any more. Go buy some twizzlers and chew on those for a few days. Just don't smoke. Hang in there...
