New & Starting Again

Yeah....I knew I would get that reaction. I know, I know! A 9 MONTH QUIT GONE - POOF - JUST LIKE THAT! It was sad how easily I gave in. No drinks were involved. Just a kids birthday party and stress. No good reason to light up....but I did! NOT WORTH IT! So....don't be like me! Never give up that quit. I hope all faith isn't lost on me. I have seen members here give up on posters who go back to smoking. I am here and I am ready to embrace my quit again and NEVER let it go this time. Also, hubby is quitting with me this time. Last time, I didn't pressure him, he just wasn't ready then. I am happy that he is now and I am ready as well. We will be happy & healthy together for life!

Wow Billyfrog, you must have gotten really drunk to loose a 9 month quit. That tells me I can learn a thing or two from you. Please tell me what to avoid. You can do it again. I'm not sure I could, at my age, start over. I for sure don't want to loose my quit. Welcome, Billy, Wow! 9 months and relapsed. What did you tell yourself that allowed that to happen? I am sure you learned something from it. That just scares the heck out of me. Anyway, welcome to the site. Looking forward to getting to know you better. If you want, the meter is in Personal Profile. Billyfrog, Welcome to the SSC! We encourage you to work through the tools of the program and read through past discussions. They are a great source of quitting information. Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

Hi Billy and welcome - Sounds like you know the ropes, probably better than I do. So are you going cold turkey this time or using NRT's or something else? Hello! Billyfrog here. Today is my quit date. I am doing well so far. It's almost lunch time. I had a 9 month & 9 day quit going last year and started smoking again. What was I thinking? So, this isn't my first rodeo but it will be my last. I will never make a mistake like that again, ever. I have been here before a little bit, on and off. I am looking forward to getting to know you all. I want to give as well as receive support in this journey we are on.
