Right before going to work, and on the way to work is very tough.

I think it would just be easiest to quit your job. ;) Ok, that's not an option, so here's what I did - just get more sleep in the morning. I thought I'd really miss the 'relax before work' thing, but now just don't need to get up that extra 30 minutes earlier, I use it for the snooze button and relax under the warm covers. It's not a bad alternative! x T My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 320 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,360 Amount Saved: 1,760.00 Life Gained: Days: 26 Hrs: 15 Mins: 58 Seconds: 45

Hi Tresa of Oregon! Hope you are having a great weekend! We are having a birthday party for my youngest daughter who is turning 10. I told her to please just stay 9, but she's not buying that! It will be so nice to enjoy the party without thinking about when I can have my next smoke! How about popping on here and start a morning thread. Make that your new habit. Watch the news, feed the birds, sleep later, run the sweeper....You can do this! Spark -- This was a really tough one for me also and I don't have a good solution. I tried gum, water, etc. and nothing really worked for me. I think it's just a matter of driving in enough days without smoking that not having it in the car starts to become "normal" (whatever that is!). I went through several weeks during which the mornings really bothered me and I felt like it started my day off in a bad mood. Thankfully, I don't feel that way anymore. There are plenty of other triggers, but that one has diminished. Just keep stringing those non-smoking mornings together and one day (who knows which), one of the mornings won't seem as bad. Congratulations on your 30 days. I found if I pop a piece of mint gum in my mouth as soon as I start to drive that helps me.
