Hi Sarah, I know what your feeling with the constant anxiety, that was the one thing that finally got to me. I could deal with the occasional panic but I could not deal with waking up every morning feeling anxious and sick all day. I fought the med thing really hard for 6 months, but finally gave in. I started taking paxil cr 12.5 for a week and a half but it made me feel a bit sick so I switched to the 10mg reg paxil and it seems to be better with no side effect, just slight headache and sleepiness. I may have to go up to 20mg because i stil have anxiety daily, though not as much panic. I have only been on that med for 6 days so it probably hasn't even started working properly yet. I wish you luck on beating the anxiey without meds. I just got sick and tired of feeling ****py and putting my life on hold. My doctor said "why are you doing this to yourself, your not a weak person to take meds, that is why they are there, and it is not your fault you have given it a good fight". That is what made me try it. I had the exact same symptoms, the dizziness, spaciness is what gets to me the most...it freaks me right out. Hope that helps a bit!

Thanks so much for taking the time to respond, it's greatly appreciated and I do plan on looking into a CBT in my area.

Sarabrooke, Few questions, when you stop being on the move, and go to sit down, and the dizziness/lightheaded feeling occurs, how do you deal/cope/challenge the feeling and thought right then? If your letting it feed by getting scared or more panic prone or even jumping up to get distracted on the move again, your not dealing with it, your living with it. If you wish to forgo meds, I think the best thing is to find a therapist that does CBT. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Its kinda hard to find these. But they help you to challenge and rationalize the feelings/symptoms until you can accept/not fear them and they go away. No symptoms will eventually lead to no constant thoughts. And vice versa. Im currently looking into this route, havent found one in my immediate area as yet, I have been able to somewhat control and accept it at home, but going out is a different story for me. I have been to numerous therapists, some very helpful, some not, but none have done CBT. From what I have heard and read, this proves to be the most effective therapy for panic, with less chances for relapses. Wishing us all the best, Trish

Hey Everyone, I've been dealing, or I think I have been dealing, with Anxiety and some panic attacks for about 4 years now. I am not taking any medication, personal reasons, for my anxiety but am thinking this is the only way to get rid of my CONSTANT anxiety. The anxiety is physically in my head 24/7 and is driving me nuts because I do not understand why it's always there and will not go away. It probably doesn't help that I think about it 24/7. But in that case, which comes first? Is it my anxiety that causes the symptoms, which is mostly in my head, or my thoughts? I do not wish to take any medication at this time! I want to succeed without it! I am getting upset with the fact that taking medication may be my only solution. I go to school and have a nine month old baby and don't have time to get sick from taking medication. Please help me to get rid or understand this constant feeling in my head. It's like as soon as I stop whatever I am doing and just sit still for a moment, my head feels like its moving back and forth and I get this dizzy feeling and feel sort of lightheaded. I do not understand why this is happening. I know it's "Anxiety" but how can it have this effect 24/7?? Isn't there any natural way to feel "normal" again and get rid of this constant state of tension and anxiety? My eyes also feel like they could pop out of my skull at anytime and are easily defocused? Any thoughts? Anyone? on anything I've mentioned.
