Motivation

Bear, Thanks for your post. Here are some reasons why it is so important to reward yourself: 1- Rewards positively reinforce the behaviors you are trying to establish. 2- Rewards give you something to work towards. Resisting cravings will be easier if you are rewarded for overcoming temptation. 3- Rewards are motivational and make you happy. Tips 1- Reward yourself for every craving you overcome and every situation/trigger that you've handled well, smoke free. 2- Choose rewards you value and are willing to work towards. Acquiring them must be important to you. Hope this helps. Brenna, Bilingual Support Specialist

Thanks bear, I haven't been here I picked up a virus on my computer. Ahhh....goats do indeed have brains. I fixed it!!!! I was looking up about "THE BIG FOOT SIGHTING" in Pa. I was reading websites and looking at the picures someone recently took and found a website that said there was a video clip. Ahhhhh supidity....I downloaded the clip and got a virus. (how can goats be so smart and dumb at the same time) The virus is called IEPrentender. I found the cure in some computer geek website. But I fixed it. So...I'm back. You gotta be motivated my friends to quit smoking and in order to be motivated you gotta have your rewards and they come in 2 flavours your external and your internal. Now this might be hard to swallow when your going through hell week or heck week so it's important that you give yourself a little treat it's good for the brain and you know something I'm not to sure that it's a bad idea for people further along in their quits as reinforcment that we're doing pretty good too.Hmmm I wonder what I can get today. :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/20/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 232 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,176 Amount Saved: $2,320.00 Life Gained: Days: 52 Hrs: 23 Mins: 44 Seconds: 51
