I am an addict, i love to have a litte wine, but with this personality i dont dare have to much, it may turn into another addiction for me, i guess my worse problem is my Poddy mouth, had it cleaned up pretty good until the quit, guess its a way of expressing my feelings :( Tresa My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/8/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1914 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 38,280 Amount Saved: $6,699.00 Life Gained: Days: 269 Hrs: 21 Mins: 18 Seconds: 57

I just love your thought provoking posts. Smoking isn't the problem. Addiction and all the things that smoking masks is the problem. I feel truly blessed to have been successful in this quit. I have also had to learn to deal with many other addictive behaviors along the way. As a matter of fact, the father into the quit I get, the more I understand. If I hadn't quit smoking, I may never had met the real me. What an opportunity this has been. Quitting is a soul-searching; life changing experience. Enjoy it!!! Thanks Bear, got me to thinking. Smoking sure wasn't my only problem. Stopping smoking opened my eyes to other areas in my life that needed improvement. It was so over whelming at first that I had to break it down to one thing at a time. I started with not smoking and I have 4 months behind me now. I am still working on me and I will be as long as I'm around. Duffis told me you learn until the brain is dead and I am still learning. Bear, you are so right. Addiction IS the problem. And each one of us, to successfully quit smoking, have had to look in the mirror and admit that we are an addict and that our addiction was out of our control. And some of our addictions continue: for me, I am certainly addicted to sugar. I am addicted to judgement of other people. I am addicted to criticizing myself. These are out of control for me, and I struggle with them everyday. Thank you, Bear. Rusty :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/13/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1056 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 29,568 Amount Saved: $3,696.00 Life Gained: Days: 148 Hrs: 21 Mins: 57 Seconds: 50

Smoking is not the problem. Not being blessed with the intelligence to:- a) accept that smoking is not good for you and b)do something about it - like quit! That's the problem!
