My dog is freaking out!

Cute story! My poor Priss (and I do mean Priss) - whenever I pick up a lighter to light a candle she immediately runs to the back door! I guess we all are creatures of habit! Good job Steve - keep it up! Cute story, when I first started to quit I would walk the drive way every time I would have a crave. The dogs were very anxious to go with me in the beginning. By the end of the third day they would just look at me when I came out the door and watch me take off.I was going about every thirty minutes. Now things are much better. I am calmer and we all take our walk in the afternoon. I no longer feel the need to jump and run from the craves. That is a blessing. Thanks for sharing. What a wonderful story and quite a reminder how our addiction included others. We may have thought our smoking was ours alone and didn't include others. Right :eg: Now we can share our quits with our loved ones (yes cat and dog and birds and bears are included) Keep the Quit Sparky My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/30/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 171 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,710 Amount Saved: $513.00 Life Gained: Days: 23 Hrs: 2 Mins: 1 Seconds: 36

Another faithful dog at this residence! When I first quit she would look at me every half hour or so like we should be doing something. She also turned into my quit buddie. She enjoyed the walks that we took instead of sitting in the garage in a cloud of smoke. Now I am ashamed that I put her through that and I hope that her health does not suffer because of her loyalness. Get out there and throw the ball, walk, whatever, just don't smoke! Hi Jeffy, I can certainly understand where Bristol is coming from! My 2 little guys felt it was thier obligation to keep me company on the deck, thru all kinds of weather, when I took my "breaks". During my first week of quitting I just could not sit out there. My dogs did not understand. They would run to one of the back doors begging to go out everytime I stood up.By the 2nd week, I felt I owed them time out on the deck because they had been such great company to me in the old days. I started calling it my "breathing breaks" and sat in totally different chairs and in different spots on the deck. I now ask them "who wants to go outside and breath?" and they come running. :) :) :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 89 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,670 Amount Saved: $427.20 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 23 Mins: 14 Seconds: 22

See, even the dog is trained for your smoking breaks. I was amazed at how much smoking controlled what I did when I quit. I just didn't realize all the things revolving around my addiction until I removed the cigarettes. You are doing great. Throw breaks are awesome!!! My best friend is my good buddy, Bristol, the Golden Retriever. I am fortunate to have my office in the home so I spend a ton of time with him. I haven't smoked inside for may years so all smoke breaks were taken in the yard. This meant many, many, chances to throw the tennis ball. Most smoke breaks included at least five or six throws. Yesterday he brought his ball into the office and dropped it on my lap. So we went out and had a "throw break". This morning he brought the ball and again put it on my lap. I was busy and ignored him. He just came back and put the ball on my desk. I guess it is time for another "throw break". This is much better than going outside to just smoke!
