Yes, Dan it IS exciting. A major accomplishment.
14 days feels fantastic! But, you can tell me that in a couple weeks yourself. ;p
I have tried changing brands before quitting previously with the hope of making smoking less enjoyable. It may work for some but, for me, it just made me want to "enjoy" smoking even more. This time I did pretty much what you are doing. I set a date and for the week before I worked through the program here and made myself very aware of my smoking while cutting down each day the number of cigarettes I smoked. I also delayed cigarettes that I smoked at routine times like after meals, in the mornings, etc. I stopped smoking in the house and car completely as well. Like I said, basically what you are doing. That method worked well for me and although I dealt with the physical and mental withdrawls, the previous week showed me how much strenght I had to beat my addiction. I wouldn't say that I've had a terrible time or a terrible struggle. The first week (5 days) in particular was a struggle but it was manageable.
I can tell you really want this and I believe you will be successful. Good for you! It's a wonderful feeling!
Yay, Dan!!!
