Sparky, The limbo is normal and part of quiting just like the intial craves for tobacco were. The reason is you don't know the "new" you right now. The old smoking you is familiar and comfortable. The new you isn't made that fast. I bet there is more "new" you that has been formed than you even realize. Sit back....recognize it as part of the journey and go with the flow. Make a list of what you would like the new you to compromise and then work to obtain that image. Your doing wonderful. I understand as I've been there. It turns around slowly....but it DOES turn around. Hey, Sparky! Seems like earlier in the day you were pulling me along... You don't smoke anymore. Just take some time for yourself because you need it or you want it. Worry about the weight later. Be good to yourself. And while I'm here...thanks for being there for me earlier. I couldn't do it without you all. ((((hugs)))) ttin.
I know in part I am working to hard and not taking breaks like I should. I allowing my life get totally out of control.
Sparky, there'e your answer right there! The reason you think you want to smoke is because you have somehow convinced yourself that you need permission to take a break. And that is just the little tiny chink in the armour that the junkie looks for. So now she has you convinced that the only way to get a break is to smoke, and that leads to you thinking that quitting is no fun anymore. Well, BS to that, & I don't even have to tell you that. Take a break, go do something fun. You have all the zest you need, my friend, it's just hidden under some drudgery & gotts-do's. Just in case, though, here's a little something for you: My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/13/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 142 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,840 Amount Saved: $1,562.00 Life Gained: Days: 14 Hrs: 6 Mins: 44 Seconds: 15

When you need a break from grouting tile, go for a walk around the block. When you need a little something and you don't know what it is, drink a bottle of ice cold water. Some days aren't "zeal" days. Sometimes they are just "gotta slog through" days. We had those before. Non-smokers have them. Everything doesn't become perfect when we quit smoking. Go to Curves. Take a walk. Don't stop doing those things. Did you buy the 5/6 kittie stuff yet? Rusty :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/13/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1023 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 28,644 Amount Saved: $3,580.50 Life Gained: Days: 144 Hrs: 7 Mins: 43 Seconds: 4

Hi Sparky, now, now, don't go there, as soon as the thought hits you, get rid of it. This is such a horrible crippling stinking addiction, you don't want it back in your life. As Penguin says, take a break, go back to your quitting tools, whatever you use that helps, beleive me smoking won't help at all. You'll lose the pounds later, I think the problem is, us women want to do it all at once, one thing at a time and one day at a time. Sounds like you have a pretty good understanding of some of the extra "noise" coming in and making things difficult. A couple things to add. You can choose to feel really, really bad about making a bad choice. You can come back to us and tell us you smoked. You can start ALL OVER AGAIN. You can choose not to get a kitten. Zest & Zeal. How about looking around trying to find it somewhere else. Maybe you are at the turning point Sparky, where it doesn't have to be about the quit all the time. I know you never thought you would get there, but just a thought. And, TAKE A BREAK. Do something - a crossword, knitting, read a book, plan for kitty, sort pictures, plan you next reno :eg: Do not give up. I still chasing you.
