A chance for a new beginning

You write such inspiring posts, Pat! You are so right, though. As you embrace being quit and gain more tastes of the freedom it brings, you gradually do see your life change and new beginnings start. For me, so much of the imprisoning wall from smoking has crumbled down. I feel more and more like "ME" each day and by that I mean the real me who existed before the smoking but was lost for so long as I smoked on and off (but mostly on and in the "closet") for so many years. It has improved my outlook on life and my relationships with other people around me. I hope that others see our stories and realize that if they keep at it they can get to a better life too. I'm soooo glad to hear about how much your life has changed since you quit and how happy you are. Don't forget to check in occasionally, just so we all know how you are. How absolutely wonderful to read this, Pat. I am so happy for you. Thanks for the inspiration, as always. I agree that choosing to free ourselves from this addiction can lead to some pretty surprising changes elsewhere in our lives. Good for you for making those conscious choices to have the changes be satisfying ones. -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 192 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,680 Amount Saved: $1,305.60 Life Gained: Days: 26 Hrs: 20 Mins: 23 Seconds: 47

Hello my friends, I can't thank you all enough for the support, the wisdom, the laughter and all the caring you've given me in the past 8 months. My life really took a change for the better when I decided to quit smoking. By far, quitting smoking is the best thing I've ever done for myself. Being positive has turned my whole world around. It was scary in the beginning but I've come a very long way and made some major life changes. I no longer live in or with addiction. I've ended my enabling relationships and stood on my own two feet in a world without addiction for the first time in my life. It feels so fantastic to be free! I've also been facing my fears head on. I've been learning who I really am and how to deal with life without hiding behind clouds of smoke. I've been working hard and taking responsibility for the direction my life is heading. I haven't been around much lately because I've met someone very special. I feel like I've been offered a chance for a new beginning. I plan to jump back into life, start travelling and spending my time making my dreams come true. So if you don't hear from me for a while, don't worry...I won't be smoking. I'll be back to celebrate on Jan 28th for sure. Send an email if you want to track me down. I'll be out there. Living. Laughing. Loving. Enjoying being Free. :) Pat My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 245 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,800 Amount Saved: $3,430.00 Life Gained: Days: 28 Hrs: 22 Mins: 53 Seconds: 16
