Danielle, that is such a cool idea. It is such a huge (sic) problem worldwide. If it is any help John, muscle weighs more than fat. Take your height and body mass index into account. From your photo, I would say you were more a rugby(*) player build. Broad shoulders and all that. Take that into account when weighing yourself. John, LOL, Nice post. Screw the weight gain. That can be curved with some effort. Its the dam smoking that will get ya in the end IF NOT SOONER! Na, I dont buy it. Ask yourself whats harder, quiting smoking, or taking off 30,40 pounds? Its a no brainer. Besides, its harder to treat lung cancer, heart problems, mouth cancer and so on, than it is to treat obesity. Hell, I went through the worst time of my life with this quit. Nothing in my life was harder, nothing. But with some ba..s and some willpower and with help, anyone can do it. As for the extra pounds, well, use that as a tool for ur quit. I mean that. Who cares about some extra fat when you have a fight of your life on your hands already? Na, eat the big mac whem you have an attack, better than the needle in the lung for the biopsy.. Keep on trucking my friend! John, minimize or even better keep away from the Trans & saturated fats + processed sugar. Drink lots of water & or 'real' fruit juice & most important thing of all - regular exercise. John, Obesity is on the rise all over the US and smoking is on the decline! V-CC will be launching a Healthy Weight Center soon as a result of this rising demographic so hang in there. :) Certain crusades against childhood obesity are already gaining speed. Initiatives such as the banning of trans fat and mandatory daily physical activity in schools are becoming more popular in Ontario. Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

I think the key thing is that smoking affects those around you to some extent. Like the waitress in the bar. But the fact still remains that in the US obesity is the #1 problem NOT smoking. So, I mentioned one day to some friends how fried food is worse then cigarettes and that what the govt should do is to put a tax on anything deep fried to deter people from eating it. Just think a Cheeseburger, large fries and a Coke $27.95 Forget it, I will have the broiled Salmon with brown rice and steamed veggies. Oh, wait, cant have Salmon, it has Mercury in it!! Okay and apple, a peach and a spinach salad..... Oh wait, it has insecticide on the apple and peach and the spinach may have been recalled for bacteria. Guess I will have the cheeseburger and fries after-all! he, he .. pokerbrat i had a mental pitchure of you weaving all over the road abusing the crap out of your radio. ;p I attribute Politcs these days to a lolly scramble. You gotta have a laugh though, unfortunately most of the time it's at the smokers expense. Ah but Gen, if they treat it like that other smokeable herb and take it off the shelves and make it illegal they would then begin putting the smokers in jail, better to smoke outside eh?
