One Thing After Another

I recognise a lot of me in your orginal post. I had to give up drinking - it was killing me, then I decided I had to give up smoking but for other reasons like the smell, the cost, the social stigma of it. This left me with only food but now I am so fat I have had to go on a diet. Living like this: Not drinking, not smoking and not eating does make me wonder at times what there is left........ I do voluntary work and I have a dog and those two do help but it's a mind set you have to get in to to stop you looking for the buzz which is going to bring you to a calmer place. I don't suppose I'm helping much but I am offering support and understanding and, like everyone else here, encouraging you to keep posting your thoughts which so often make such entertaining posts. All the best. Bear The answer is in your original post, my friend. You get a rush when you help someone on this site...what a grand thing to do. Just keep posting! You have friends here who care about you, and friends that depend on you for your truth and wisdom, and those who will soon come to know you as the Bear we all love. Don't get down, get busy! Type away Bud! Give us all something to read. Oh, and just don't smoke! Luv ya guy! Thanks Everybody for your concern. For some unaccountable reason this past month has been rather unsettling for me .Very unpleasant dreams, reminders of the past coming back to bite me in the a-- and an overall feeling of gloom and doom and too much alcohol for my own good.A puppy is a great idea but for reasons beyond my control that cannot happen.I will in fact be working at the golf course 6 days a week soon till the end of season so that will keep me out of trouble till the 1,rst of Nov. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/20/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 174 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,132 Amount Saved: $1,740.00 Life Gained: Days: 39 Hrs: 17 Mins: 22 Seconds: 44

This may sound really outrageus but hey it's an idea. Last quit for a reward I bought a toy poodle at 4 months quit. Really so much to do and take care of I didn"t think about smoking at all. When I had 1 year I celebrated by having one. Well I know that doesn't work but having something to care for and she depends on me it makes it a reson to keep on keeping on. Can you just see a 68 yr. old bear with a toy poodle? Hey there a lot of doggies at the shelter that would just love to be with you. Just my 2 cents here My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/3/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 37 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 296 Amount Saved: $74.00 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 12 Mins: 31 Seconds: 2
