Hey Bobbi! We are going thru a similar thing with my father inlaw. He needs full time care now and it is just too much for my Mother inlaw to care for him. He has lymphoma, and (this is his fourth bout with cancer) he has refused any further treament. It is very sad to see him suffer, but all we can do is make him comfortable. It is what is best for his care. Hang on Bobbi, its hard, but talk to your brothers and sisters, they are going thru it too, and maybe you can work out a schedule or something to take turns being there for him. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 189 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,725 Amount Saved: $1,993.95 Life Gained: Days: 23 Hrs: 2 Mins: 56 Seconds: 14

Bobbie, it is okay to sad. I have been where you are and it is not easy to see your parents go to a nursing home. I can still see my mother face when she realized that she would never live in her home again. We brought her to the house for special occasions, but it was never the same. Your father is getting the care that you and your family can't give him. It takes time to adjust to him being there. They told us it would take about a month. Your heart is breaking, but you will be fine. You were just there helping out with him, that tells me he has a wonderful daughter. Visit when you can, call, write notes, send pictures. I will never be easy to see him there, but you will adjust. You will be fine, promise. Keep the Quit Sparky My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/30/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 133 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,330 Amount Saved: $399.00 Life Gained: Days: 17 Hrs: 22 Mins: 36 Seconds: 1

Bobbi, You have so much going on. You are absolutely amazing the way you are coping with everything. Keep your chin up and keep putting one foot in front of the other. You are successful and doing great! With all of this going on, have you thought about talking it all out with someone face to face? It may really help you keep things in perspective and give you an outlet for all this sadness you have going on. Fill your mind with positive thoughts and let the negative ones go. Hold on to that quit of yours. Let us know how we can help. Bobbi, I'm so sorry you're having a hard time. It is so difficult to be in that position, so hard to see your parents who have always been your strength, become weak. Hang in, Bobbi, & don't forget to take care of you, too, OK?
