When I am craving at work I jump on here and do a couple of posts and read a whole lot!!! If you can try it, just read for 5 minutes and it will pass. I have started walking during my lunch to change my routine of eating and them going for a smoke. Hang in there you can do it, just keep saying to yourself that you don't want to go through day #1 again!!!! Tammatt, Sorry you are having such a tough day. Start keeping a journal to help you pinpoint the triggers that are causing this. Go home tonight and make a crave basket. Fill it with office items such as chocolate, candies, licorice, magazines, crosswords, teas, coffees, word searches and more! For tonight get that relaxation ritual started and ease yourself into sleep. Do this every night so that you can wake up refreshed. Also take those breaks that are needed at work and clear your head. Give it a try and let us know how you are doing :) Josie, Support Specialist

Hang in, tammatt. You can do it & you're going to be so proud of yourself for it! Can you change your environment or your routine at work to remove some triggers? Just a little change can make a big difference. Deep breaths, drink plenty of ice water and take a lot of walking breaks. When I quit, sometimes I would just have to go to the restroom and scream! I kept my door shut a lot during those first few days. I simply expained to my boss what I was doing and he was very supportive of me. Remember this is temporary. The affects of being smoke free go on forever and you are doing something really, really good for yourself. Suck on peppermints, kick, scream, cry, whatever you must, just don't smoke!!!! You are doing great! Congratulations on 3 awesome days!!! Breathe...1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Breathe...1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ... Can you step out and stretch? Your shoulders & neck. Close your eyes and relax? Remind yourself that you are not smoking. You've not needed to smoke so far so no reason to smoke now. I hope that helps!!! Hang in there, use your coping skills, anything to help yourself. Deep breathing, sugarless gum is one of my favorites while at work. Drink some cold water. Understand your job is going to be the same whether you smoke or not, your job isn't going to change, and smoking will not help you cope with the stress, it will only add stress. Your in hell week, it's going to be a rough ride, but with your commitment, you can do this!! We're here for you.
