Interesting topic, With all the positive effects that quitting gives, it would be hard to go back to less energy and trouble breathing! The expense alone would deter many and we hope that the path you have chosen is the best one possible for you and your body :) Josie, Support Specialist

Good question Bear! I can't imagine smoking again, no matter what. I so enjoy being free of it. Even if it wasn't unhealthy, it's still inconvenient, expensive & disgusting. Nope! Isn't that what the tobacco industry is already trying to do with their nicotine free cigarettes, non addictive and all that crap... Bear, it took them how many years to determine nicotine kills? As tempting as that thought may seem, No I wouldn't go back. I am not putting anything back into these lungs that doesn't belong there! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 183 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,575 Amount Saved: $1,930.65 Life Gained: Days: 22 Hrs: 8 Mins: 53 Seconds: 18

What an interesting question. I fought so hard to break away from the enslavement of smoking that I don't think I really would go back at this point. 6 months ago, you better believe it but today is a new day. My life has changed so dramatically because of the quit. I no longer want to go back to the way things use to be. That is a huge statement coming frome me. For the first 2 years I believe all I longed for was the way things use to be. My how things change. Bear one day I was searching around on that video site (not allowed to mention name but we all know it) and came across two commercials for cigarettes. One showed Fred and Barney out in the back yard smoking. (were they promoting to kids?) The other was a Chesterfield commercial that showed a guy with a lab coat saying how their studies showed no problems with the throat of a 10 year smokers. Wouldn't it be interesting to get the names of those patients and see how they are doing today? Can tell you, I seem to notice more people with O2 bottles now then ever before. It amazing how nicotine can get a smoker to turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to anything derogatory about it. To answer your question, if they said Cigarettes are not bad for you I would still stay quit. Smoking stinks. Hey Mr Curious, Everything pokerbrat said BUT, and it's a VERY, VERY BIG BUT, if they proved beyond any doubt whatsoever that they were harmless - SHEEEEBOOOOMMMM!!!! you wouldn't see my heels for dust as I hurtled, almost uncontrollably, towards the nearest gas station and I can safely say that luna would be storming along, desperately trying to beat me there!!! I didn't want to give that answer but I'm no liar so there you have it!! Then I woke up!! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/18/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1204 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 24,080 Amount Saved: 6,020.00 Life Gained: Days: 193 Hrs: 9 Mins: 27 Seconds: 0
